Just signed up my son to Gracie Barra BJJ El Monte to keep up his training. He went to another great gym in Los Angeles but since moving out here it’s been hard to be consistent. We found this gem and never knew it was so close! Very clean, spacious, and the staff (Mario and Heidi) are excellent! Highly recommend this for you and your kids if you want to not only be active but also learn critical thinking skills in which BJJ provides. *Update 3/12- been three weeks and we’re loving it. Bring your kids here and try out a free class. It’s worth it!
My husband and I met Joe, the owner, and we are such fans! He is kind, knowledgeable and so deeply committed to his students. His love for the sport is so admirable, these kids are lucky! Jiu jitsu changed our daughter's life - we are forever grateful and recommend it for kids of all ages. She is confident, strong and most importantly, is more likely to protect herself in cases of real danger.
This is a great GB gym! Mario is a top tier instructor and I've trained with him for years. It's clean and new with a great mat. I highly recommend if you are a seasoned jujitsu person or new and wanting to get into it!
We drive an extra 30 minutes to learn JuiJitsu with Professor Mario and Coach Heidi. They know how to work with young kids and the kids are getting stronger and better at techniques while having fun. My 9-year old daughter is having a great time and learning so much!
Great training center. Very knowledgeable instructors. The facilities are well kept and clean which is very important for any jujitsu gym. I recommend them very highly. The owner is a very cool guy too!
I came across the upcoming lead professor, Mario, when I started training at another Gracie Barra. He is attentive and patient. I was so nervous coming into Jiu Jitsu as a woman. He made me feel safe and comfortable. I look forward to him leading this new Gracie Barra location.
