Jiu jitsu can be intimidating, but Professor Ricardo Guimaraes makes the journey worth it. After more than a decade in the Temecula/Murrieta area, the gym has a large, devoted community of jiu jitsu enthusiasts who make learning this difficult art very enjoyable. The community will teach you almost as much as Professor himself because of the collaborative culture that has been cultivated at Gracie Humaita Temecula. This results in an expedited learning process. Deciding to join Gracie Humaita Temecula will result in the opportunity to learn world class jiu jitsu, meet a wonderful community, and to have a hobby that almost always becomes an addiction! The journey of learning jiu jitsu is an analogy to life in many ways and will help you improve as a person in more ways than you can fathom. Give it a try!!
I’m excited to post a review for this school. Professor Ricardo is hands down the best out there. The belts and metals don’t lie. Aside from his technical skill (um he’s like a award winning champ) he’s amazing w all levels of a jiujitsu practitioner. From a small child, to an experienced black belt. Our family has been here for a very long time and I’m sad to say that at one point we did visit Carlson Gracie off hwy 79 for a couple weeks as scheduling and traffic really became a challenge for my husband and myself. But we quickly realized there is a HUGE difference in quality and skill set. It’s great that more people are practicing jiujitsu overall, makes me so happy, but if your looking to practice for competition, to gain belt recognition, grow in a measurable manner and be challenged w other really really good competitors, then you need to come to Gracie w Professor Ricardo. Several other black belts and brown belts are here as coa
A little over a year and a half ago, I was looking for a BJJ place for my boys (age 5 & 6 at the time) to train. Looking at other places, the instructors were blue or purple belts. Here? Professor Ricardo is a 4th degree black belt and he's there almost every single day teaching the kids, juniors, and adults. The staff and other instructors are amazing teachers and very patient with the kids. My boys are now competing in the in house tournaments and are looking forward to starting to compete in the larger tournaments soon. I'm looking to start training there soon as well. I'm 42 and not in the best shape, but speaking with some of the older guys there they helped calm my fears of getting injured. No egos, everyone is there just to train and get better. Definitely feels like family when you get here.
If you’re looking for a great BJJ place for the kids (or yourself) to train, look no further; you’re in the right spot. The staff here are dedicated to the development of discipline, skill, and self confidence. All the instructors are thoughtful with their feedback and are very patient with the students. They teach and drill the skills into them and offer many classes a week all for the same payment. You can attend as many of the classes as you want during the week. They get the kids comfortable being in uncomfortable situations which fosters growth and self esteem. I love being there when they do the belt promotions, because the kids are always so excited to have earned a stripe or the next belt. You can’t really ask for more when it comes to the quality and compassion experienced here day in and day out. Thanks, guys!
You really cannot say enough good things about Professor Ricardo and the school. After many trial classes at various schools throughout the Temecula and Murrieta Valley my trial class at Gracie proved to be very different from the rest. The instruction, enthusiasm, professionalism, pride, culture, and community Professor Ricardo has engrained into his school is second to none. Take into account the many available classes, Gi or No-Gi, multiple kids classes, which my wife and I VERY excited to start our son in soon, and you have the best value of any school around. Whatever it is drawing you towards Jiu Jitsu, do not hesitate to join Gracie Humaita and begin your journey.
I have trained under Professor Ricardo since 2008. He has presented me with every stripe and every belt; up to and including my Black Belt. I have stayed and will always train under Ricardo. He has become my Brother and one of my Best friends. His knowledge and accomplishments in BJJ are truly amazing. His direction and providing all the smallest details make your BJJ more effective. This is proven by the long list of upper belts and Black Belts who have stayed with him for many years. I assist him in teaching the Kids programs and the kids absolutely love and respect him. He makes it safe and provides an amazing learning environment. This is evident by the confidence you see grow in the children. He definitely has the right ingredients to flourish his students (both Kids and Adults). If you are looking for the Best School in the Temecula Valley, come check out Gracie Humaita Temecula
