Leon Jiu Jitsu Martial Arts reviews

Rated 4.2/5 across 30 Google reviews.

I live in the East Bay and dropped in to stay active while traveling for a work trip. All I can say is this is an amazing place to train. Professor Bill was very welcoming and allowed me to train. From the start Leon Jiu Jitsu is family oriented and serious about their training. Professor Bill gives clear instruction and amazing details to help their students grow. The gym is very clean and all the other students help one another. I found Leon Jiu Jitsu through google and I’m super lucky. I look forward dropping in again when I’m in the area. OSS!
I was looking for a summer activity for 2 of my daughters between their baseball seasons. They enjoyed the trial class and I liked the staff so I signed them up. After the second or third class, I met the owner/head black belt, Professor Bill and immediately felt the pull. After a short while, I signed up. My then 4- year- old wanted to be like her sisters so I signed her up to the peewee class too. This school has brought us together through an activity we all enjoy and has pushed us all harder than we thought we could go. The kids loved it so much that my wife decided to join the Women's Defense Class too. As for me, every day I have to talk myself into going and every day I'm glad I did. Two years later, I still end the day with: See you tomorrow, Professor.
Stepping into this family-owned and family oriented BJJ gym feels like entering an arena of respect, discipline, and dedication. The incredible professor, despite being blind, demonstrates an unwavering commitment to the art and his students. His unique blend of firmness and respect fosters an environment where kids not only master BJJ techniques but also learn invaluable life lessons. Every session is a testament to his passion and the warm, supportive community he has nurtured. A true gem of a place where martial arts and life skills go hand in hand.
Walked into this gym 2 1/2 years ago and it’s been the greatest experience I’ve had in a mix martial arts gym. The instructor coach Bill Tetsch has years of coach and competition experience. If your looking for a gym that has a strong foundation on Jiu-Jitsu fundamentals or the capability to guide you through competition circuit look no further.
I have nothing but the utmost respect for the coaches at Leon. Their dedication to the art and thoughtfulness in teaching are truly commendable. My daughter has been with Leon for three years, starting when she was just 3 years old, and I’ve seen significant improvements in both her technique and confidence. Coach Bill is firm yet thorough, patient yet disciplined, striking the perfect balance to ensure progress. If you’re serious about introducing your child to this art, Leon is the place to be.
Best place to train top level jiu-jitsu. Instructor's are professional and attentive. I highly recommend this place for adult training and coach Bill is great with children.
