Best workouts and training partners around for martial arts, MMA, core training, cardio workouts, and individualized training. Fun and hard working group of people workout here; it is a real community & family environment. Corey is a very knowledgeable and skilled instructor. He is amazing with kids, engaging their attention & and encouraging their development; he has the perfect balance of patience & discipline. He's great at explaining, guiding, coaching, and training youngsters to teenagers to adults in mixed martial arts skills from stand-up sparring to jiu-jitsu ground work. I've been training with Corey & Rob for over 20 years. I love the workouts here & these workouts keep me fit, strong & agile.
Cory and his dojo Williams MMA are absolutely top-notch. The quality of instruction, the welcoming environment, and the professional management are apparent in every class. They offer convenient class times, and the class sizes are perfect never too crowded, ensuring personal attention for every student. Everyone leaves the mat sweating and smiling, which speaks volumes about the quality of the workout and the fun atmosphere. The most significant benefit for my family has been the impact on my son's personal growth. I initially brought him here to help with focus and following instructions, and the results have been remarkable. The martial arts curriculum, led by Cory, teaches discipline through clear expectations and routine. The students are required to pay attention to complex movements, which has directly translated into better listening skills and focus, not just in the dojo but also at home and even in school. If you are lookin
Let me begin with saying Corey is one of the most welcoming and kind people ever. I begun training at the dojo after being involved in a fight that I did not know how to properly handle myself in. Immediately Corey stepped up to the task of getting me comfortable to this sort of environment. His mentorship has guided me into a direction of more confidence, discipline and most importantly safety. Using MMA as an exercise has put me in the best shape I have ever been in and there is never a burned out feeling.(like lifting weights at the gym) I have the constant itch to go day after day that only Mixed Martial Arts can fill. If you have any hesitation in starting, please give Corey a call! The community/family that trains here are positive, encouraging and friendly!
Such a positive environment. I was going here a lot pre-pandemic, and have been meaning to leave a review for a while. I don't know if Corey (the owner) just has a knack for bringing out the best in people or what, but this place is a fantastic community. I've grown to know him as not just an MMA mentor, but also as a friend. I also don't know if Andy is still there, but Andy is a great BJJ instructor, and was always very welcoming to his students. I did wrestling in high school, so it was really cool to find a community in Orange County where I could safely practice grappling again. I also got a chance to learn and practice my striking and boxing game, which I had never done in my life (and learned that I loved). I always felt welcome and accepted. I have since moved up north, but I'll always love this gym. Best MMA community in Huntington Beach, in my opinion.
If I’m being honest, Williams academy of MMA is the best mixed martial arts studio in the Huntington Beach/fountain valley/Westminster Orange County area that I can say I am proud to fight and train at! The coaches are very knowledgeable in MMA, and the discipline and confidence this gym has given me is incredible. We typically end training with striking or grappling, yet the precaution towards safety that is taken makes this welcoming for family or kids. Quality cardio is thrown in to help make this the best MMA gym for the community!
My son has been going here for about 6 months now, and he really enjoys it. Cory and his instructors are great, and as a mom, it gives me a huge sense of relief that they care about the SAFETY of the students and place a large emphasis on this (my son is only 7). This is one of the main reasons we continue to go; while the discipline martial arts instills is nice, but it's not the real appeal for our family (we believe that's the responsibility of the parents). I primarily want a safe environment for our kids to learn self defense, and eventually it able to defend those he cares about. It's a great school and everyone should give it a try, especially since the first class is free!
