Dont enroll here because I promise your kids will be obsessed and keep asking when their next jiujitsu class is. Before my son’s trial class, he was nervous and skeptical. He didn’t want to go but I told him just one class. Try it out. If you do not like it, we don’t have to come back. He walked out smiling ear to ear saying it was so much fun. There has never been a day where I had to force him to go. Every day after school, my son will ask if we have jiujitsu that day because he looks forward to it SO much. When he asks on weekends and I have to say no, he gets bummed out. When out driving, my son always asks to take Euclid so we can drive by the academy so he can peek and he will tell whoever in our car that his jiujitsu is right there! I always look forward to taking drop-in classes at Daoun Jiu Jitsu whenever I'm in town. My brother and sister-in-law are the owners/coaches, and their passion and skill make every class feel special. The moment I step on the mat, it feels like I never left; the community is so warm and welcoming. As a beginner, it's a great workout, and there are lots of skilled, tenured grapplers I can trust while learning. Every session challenges me and helps me improve my technique and confidence. They emphasize not just skill, but also character and respect across all the ages they coach, which makes training truly meaningful. I always leave feeling motivated, happy, and part of something special.
After moving to the OC area I was looking for a new academy closer to home. After research online I found Daoun Jiu Jitsu. I Reached out and instantly felt welcome. After a week of trial class and open mats, I signed right up. Dory and Malena have created such a great environment for anyone new and already skilled in Jiu Jitsu. From their kids program to their morning and night adult classes, this academy is the way to go. You will be able to learn from proven practitioners who have also created a fun community. Proud to be apart of Daoun Jiu Jitsu and look forward to the future for this program!
I've had the pleasure of training with Dory and Male for a few years now, and it’s been amazing to see them grow into their own space at Daoun Jiu Jitsu. These two are some of the most down-to-earth people I know. Both are incredibly accomplished BJJ competitors with a ton of championships under their belts, but what has always stood out to me is their overall welcoming attitude. Medals are great, but Dory and Male genuinely care about creating a safe space for everyone. They focus on making sure you’re learning, working hard, and enjoying the process. Their humility and kindness go a long way in making the gym feel like a real community. If you’re looking for a gym where you can get high level BJJ training and be part of a supportive community, definitely check them out. Highly recommend!
I have attended this Jiu Jitsu joint for a month as a completely new beginner and enjoyed every class. I attended the 6am class which turned out to be a great way to start your day. The instructor is an excellent teacher who gives valuable feedback and guidance throughout the class. The vibes in this place are very welcoming, friendly and promote solid progression for all skill levels. Daoun Jiu Jitsu receives my highest endorsement without reservation.
DAOUN JIUJITSU! We First Started at Dorys “Strength and Conditioning” back in late April. My Boys look up to Dory not only as a coach but a role model, they look forward to training every day! Being encouraged to “Become better than they were yesterday”, is what my boys preach thanks to Dory! So Glad Dory an Malena Opened Daoun Jiujitsu, there Schedule is perfect for our Home Schoolers! Coach Dory and Malena are actively competing/training/teaching, there is no doubt they are the best at what they do! Highly Recommended!!!
