Travis Lutter Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu reviews

Travis Lutter Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & MMA is truly one of the premier schools in North Texas. Travis Lutter was the first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt ever promoted in Texas by the legendary Carlos Machado — and that legacy of excellence is still felt on the mats every single day. Travis has competed and ranked at the highest levels in both MMA and BJJ, and the technical level of instruction at this academy reflects that elite experience. What makes this school special isn’t just the history — it’s the depth of talent. Because the academy has been around for so long and has built such a loyal community, there are an incredible number of high-level black belts and experienced competitors training and teaching daily. Almost every class feels like private instruction from a black belt. The attention to detail, the technical precision, and the standards are second to none. There is no compromise when it comes to the quality of jiu-jitsu tau
Excellent coaching and world-class training in a family friendly environment. Their schedule allows for training 7 days a week at one or both of their Fort Worth locations. I can't say enough positive things about Lutter's. We have been training there for nearly two years and have been made to feel like part of an extended family.Travis and his coaches genuinely care about helping their students meet their personal goals. Since joining I have recommended several friends who had all shared my positive experience. In addition to their adult program, they offer great kids classes serving beginner to advanced. They were very accommodating when I needed to put my account on hold due to injury. There were no hidden fees, nor did we continue to get billed during my time out.
Joining Travis’s gym was probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’ve been training Jiu Jitsu for about a year and Travis and his coaches do an outstanding job on breaking down fundamental concepts. I went from not knowing what Jiu Jitsu was to being able to compete in IBJJF tournaments once I felt comfortable. The gym culture and atmosphere includes people from all walks of life, different body types, skill levels, and age ranges. Everyone here is very supportive and welcoming, it feels like one big family. If you’re looking for a Jiu Jitsu gym in the area look no further, I can guarantee you this gym will be your new home.
Training under Coach Travis Lutter has been a game changer. His experience, attention to detail, and ability to break down technique are on another level. You can tell immediately that he’s been there, done it, and knows exactly how to help every student improve—whether you’re brand new or already seasoned. The environment he’s built is welcoming, disciplined, and full of people who genuinely want to get better. The room is full of the toughest people, but also the safest. I’ve gained skill, confidence, and a real sense of community here. If you’re serious about learning authentic, high‑level jiu-jitsu from someone with world‑class experience, Travis Lutter’s gym is the place.
Probably the best place you or your kids could ever train! They have all the classes to be well rounded, whether is jiu jitsu, mma, muy Thai, etc. Great for high level athletes and hobbyists alike. Outside of having awesome classes for all skill levels, the people who train at the gym are incredible. It’s honestly the most loving and supportive environment and they WILL hold you accountable. You’re not going to find a better place to grow as an athlete and as a person. Try one class, you’ll see.
I wasn't sure what to expect as I'd never trained in martial arts before. Every one I trained with was welcoming, encouraging, and very knowledgeable. The conditioning was rigorous and actually fixed my bum ankle! Of all the gyms I might have picked, I couldnt have picked better than this. When I had to put my training on pause due to unforeseen personal circumstances, the staff was understanding in letting me out of my membership. Between the very human administration, clean facility, and advanced yet welcoming trainers, I will definitely be back as soon as I can!
