Started jujitsu at Annunziato Jiu Jitsu I have been in different forms of martial arts my whole life and have had many great instructors but as far as grappling goes this place takes the cake! I normally feel stupid in a jujitsu class but these instructors explain everything so well. They are cautious about me not injuring myself (as a vet with a spine full of arthritis and bad lungs I actually feel safe here). Its a crazy effective workout abd you dont even realize it until after the class because the adrenaline makes it so fun. Addionally I love how many women go here that I can partner with. Great group of people. Very welcoming. I immediately ordered my cute pink Gi and decided to lock in to this new hobby. If anyone in azle has been considering jujitsu meet me there next week at a beginner class. The first one is free!
Annunziato Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is an outstanding academy. The instruction is top-tier, detailed, and welcoming to all skill levels—from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. The coaches genuinely care about your progress and safety, and they take the time to explain techniques in a way that actually makes sense. The environment is positive, respectful, and family-friendly, with a strong sense of community on and off the mats. Training partners are supportive, and the culture encourages learning, discipline, and confidence. Whether you’re training for fitness, self-defense, or competition, this is the best place to do it in the Azle area. Highly recommend!
Coach Ben is a passionate and extremely knowledgeable teacher of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. He has been coaching for several years and has plenty of medals from high level competitions to prove his capabilities as a Jiu-jitsu practitioner. He is excellent at teaching all groups from children and beginners to high level jiu-jitsu competitors. I would highly suggest training with coach Ben. He is patient, friendly, kind, and professional. Definitely the best gym in the area. You won't be disappointed training here.
Coach Ben and Jeneice have made our family feel like we are a part of the gym family from day 1. We’ve even gone to the zoo together! On the mat Coach Ben’s keen eye and attention to detail keeps our kids safe while learning world class jiu-jitsu. He always makes time to answer the kid’s questions and shows how the technique in question is applicable in training vs competition. He encourages kids to compete but it is not a requirement to take class.
This gym & the community it encompasses have truly changed my life. Started Jiu Jitsu for basic self defense & this gym has transformed my inner self confidence entirely. From developing the ability to be confident in my ability to protect myself, to the kindness of each member of this gym, I look forward to coming here every day. Jiu Jitsu is something I never pictured myself doing, nor do I look like I am someone who would entertain the thought of participating in the sport. However, after a few months of training and my first competition, I cant believe how I lived in this life without it. Whether you are looking to challenge yourself in mental or physical resilience, come try this gym! It is truly more than a gym, but an amazing community of people who care.
I enrolled my son in this gym nearly two months ago, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Motocross is our main sport, and while my husband and I have always coached him, it often led to frustration and tears. We realized he might benefit from learning under a coach outside of us, so we decided to try something new. From the very first class, I knew we had found the right place. Coach Ben reinforced the same lessons we had been teaching, but in a way that truly resonated with our son. Not only has he thrived in jiu-jitsu and looks forward to every class, but his motocross performance has improved significantly as well! We’re excited to be part of Team Annunziato and look forward to many more years here!
