Amazing place to learn and grow. Coach Jesse and Amy were welcoming from day one. All the coaches they have there are extremely knowledgeable and engaged. I have been training with coach Ryan for quite some time so being able to keep him as a coach while also gaining new coaches at Briggs has changed my jiu jitsu game tremendously. There is no better group of people, no better coaches, and no better team out there. There are so many kind hearted and amazing people that train there and so much knowledge to be shared. If you ever consider training at Briggs, I can guarantee you will not regret it 💯
I’ve been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Professor Jesse and his coaches since 2019. The welcoming environment and class structure emphasizes the students learning and safety. Regardless of class size, Professor Jesse and instructors are always happy to help students. Striking classes are also second to none, emphasizing technique and control. From fighter to hobbyist, black belt to white belt, all receive high quality training. Throughout the year, they also organize multiple seminars over a wide range of martial arts skills, not just grappling!
The best gym there is in El Paso. I came from another gym and the culture at Briggs MMA is unmatched. As soon as you walk through the door, the energy is high, the vibes are good, and the people are amazing. Coaching staff and Professor Briggs are incredibly educated and knowledgeable in their martial arts and teaching. The kids class is an amazing program handled with gentleness and confidence. The adults class is mixed with different people who challenge you to push yourself to the limit and work harder. The owners are amazing human beings and truly want to see you succeed. They care about your health and fitness goals, and where you want to be with your training in the future. Briggs MMA has become a family to me and others on the mats.
Briggs Academy of MMA Briggs Academy MMA Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) My experience with Briggs has been exceptional, especially for my two children, aged 8 and 11. As a parent, it's imperative to me that they not only stay active but also learn valuable life skills such as discipline, respect, and self-confidence. This gym has provided just that, and so much more. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. The instructors are not only highly skilled in martial arts but also incredibly patient and understanding with children. They know exactly how to strike the balance between hard work and fun, making sure the kids are always engaged and excited to learn. The structure of the classes is impressive. Each session is well-organized, focusing on different aspects of martial arts that keep my children intrigued and eager to learn. The progress they've made not only in their skills but also in their attitude towards challenges and hard work is re
Briggs MMA has been an incredible part of our family’s journey. I sent my two kids here when they were little, and for over five years, they’ve grown and thrived at this academy. Watching them develop not only their jujitsu (and now Muay Thai) skills but also their confidence, discipline, and respect for others has been an absolute joy. Professor Briggs is second to none—he truly cares about every student’s progress and well-being. He and his team create a nurturing yet challenging environment that encourages growth at every level. My kids have learned invaluable life lessons here, from perseverance to teamwork, all while having fun and staying active. This academy has become like a second home to my family, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the positive impact it has had on my children. If you’re looking for a place that will help your kids grow physically, mentally, and emotionally, Briggs MMA is the perfect choice. Let’s roll!
I have been training for a couple of year there and before I trained at another location. That school who I will not name was not a fun school to roll at. When I attended that school every morning after class the previous night I could not turn my head and my body felt like it had been in a train wreck. So I stopped. Fast forward two years. I start again a Briggs. No egos!! That was nice. No one training to be a star MMA fighter Or BJJ champion. This group of people are professionals. They have to get up every morning and go to work. They can’t be all F’ed up physically trying to perform their daily jobs. The atmosphere is light and everyone laughs even after being choked or submitted. Everyone is happy to show you what they did to set up that particular move so we all learn. Hope this helps.
