I have had the privilege of training under Coach Louie for a while, and his passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and dedication to his students are truly exceptional. His teaching style is both technical and engaging, making it easy to learn and grow in the sport. Beyond his instruction, Louie fosters an environment that is welcoming, supportive, and family-friendly—something that can be hard to find in the area. His commitment to creating a wholesome and positive training space is evident in everything he does. I highly recommend training with him to anyone looking for quality coaching in a great atmosphere.
If you weren't sure you could ever do something like Jiu Jitsu, trust me, you can at this place. Even as a brand new Jiu Jitsu-er and a non-athletic person, I felt like I belonged right in the beginning. The community these people have built is like none other and I have never felt more confident. The coaches are all very encouraging and patient and just genuinely amazing to work with! Try them out, you won't regret it!
I began at Beacon in the Foundations program with my husband and found that I completed the 5 week course with a solid grasp of the basic principles of Jiu Jitsu that I could continue to build on. I really appreciate the systematic approach to instruction and the intentionality of the instructors to making jiu jitsu approachable to anyone looking to learn regardless of age, experience, and fitness level.
My 9 YO warrior loves going to Beacon. He wants to get there early and is never in a hurry to leave. Beacon uses a "game" process to teach techniques. It's a true hands on experience with real time action. In addition to building self defense techniques, my warrior gets 45 minutes per lesson of intense cardio and physical activity. Just a parental "warning," appetites tend to increase due to calorie burn. 😀
