This is an excellent place to get yourself or your children into martial arts. If you are new to martial arts or simply want some exercise that isn’t mind-numbingly boring, this would be a good place to start. I chose Legacy because of their “Family” martial arts class. My daughter wanted to try it, but didn’t want to be by herself. They provide a class where you can train alongside your child. My daughter absolutely loves it and has been asking if we can switch to the 3-days per week schedule; which we may do over the summer. Moreover, Legacy provides a flexible class schedule which should accommodate most families. The instructors at our location are energetic, kind and knowledgable. Not only do they teach Taekwondo, but they also put on numerous special classes and events, have raffle drawings and summer camps. Again, a great place for kids to get into martial arts. Now, Legacy trains specifically for competitions… so if your intent
My daughter has loved classes here! The coaches make class fun and inclusive for all! The growth in my daughters self-confidence is evident more and more each week and she is developing great skills in the art too. Thanks Legacy staff!! Update: She STILL loves it! Growing more and more and classes here have helped her in more ways than one- thanks Legacy and Coaches Kenn and Coach Justin!!
We love Legacy Martial Arts Irmo! Since starting 8 months ago, my daughter has learned new skills and gained so much confidence. We have yet to have a class day that she doesn't want to go - she always looks forward to her classes. All of the coaches are great and each brings a different experience to class, which the kids definitely enjoy. Highly recommend for kids of all ages!
My son has been going to legacy for 2 years now. He’s learned so much and is a red belt now! This is a really good program that my whole family has enjoyed being a part of. The coaches have all been awesome! The events they have are always fun and confidence-boosting. They raffle prizes occasionally which you can increase your chances of winning by attending events and practices. They give back by offering cute classes for parents to attend on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. They offer parents night out often in case parents want a date night. I really can’t say enough good things about them!

My son has been taking Taekwondo in the Little Champs program at Legacy for around 4 months. He had major surgery when he was younger and has been in PT for several years. Taekwondo helps him continue to improve his core strength and balance, while also working on focus and discipline and building self confidence. The instructors at Legacy, especially Master Sim, are amazing. They are patient with the kids and you can tell they truly enjoy teaching.
