Phenomenal Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu School with an Outstanding Women's Program! I can't say enough great things about Jitsu Academy SC! From the moment I joined, I felt welcomed and supported by the incredible community and the attentive instructors, Danilo Cherman and Jess Cherman. Their passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu shines through in every class, making this school an amazing place to train. We have been at this gym for over 3 years and have met amazing families, and students from all walks of life. This gym makes you feel comfortable and welcome, with Coaches who take the time to help you on your own personal jiu jitsu journey whether it’s your child who needs more self confidence or discipline or you’re and adult, that wants to get in better shape, or you’re ready to start training for the ufc dream youve always had. We would not train anywhere else! World class coaches and a beautiful gym!
My son has been training Jiujitsu for almost two years. We’ve tried multiple gyms in the area and all are very commercialized (focused on numbers and not in quality of training). Jitsu Academy is the exception. Coach Danilo and Jessica are phenomenal!!!! They pay close attention to technique and assist their students to learn in a very nurturing way. They have three coaches (including themselves) total in the 7-9 kids class. The right student-coach ratio to ensure safety and technique is adequately executed. No other gym in the area does it like them. They execute drills and practice a lot. My son has improved so much in just a short month training there. Jitsu Academy is hands down the best JiuJitsu academy in the Midlands!!!
Best academy in SC! AMAZING world class coaches with the highest level of professionalism and knowledge! My daughter has been going to the academy for a little over a year now, and what she has gained thanks to the patience and instruction of Coach Danilo and Coach Jess will be valuable as she continues to grow. I myself, as a woman in my 40's had been on the fence to try BJJ and was always watching on the sidelines. When Coach Jess started the all womens class, I knew that was my chance to give it a try, and I am so glad that I did! It has truly been life changing! I have had the absolute best experience and I am so happy that I decided to start my BJJ journey under Coach Danilo and Coach Jess. Jitsu Academy has a wonderful environment for people of all all ages and abilities to learn the art of BJJ, while gaining confidence and strength in the process. We are so lucky to have such a fantastic academy in our community!
I’ve been training here for over 3 years. What attracted me to this school was how well they taught kids and women. What keeps me coming back is their integrity and commitment to offer the best BJJ program I have ever learned. I’ve trained for over 20 years on and off and this school is one of the best in the country. Both black belt owners and instructors are kind, knowledgeable and incredibly skilled at fighting at the highest level. They have both won numerous gold medals at tournaments both local and global. Jessica is a reigning World Champion and Danilo is just as accomplished, competing consistently over the last 20 years. They are just as kind and supportive as they are driven and disciplined. They do it all, little kids to teenagers, women and men, beginners and advanced technique. This school is a rare gem in South Carolina, come and check them out!
Great instructors, positive gym environment, family atmosphere. What more can you want in a place to call home for your jiu jitsu journey? My personal experiences with professor Danilo Cherman is why I choose to stay a student of his and continue my training under his tutelage. I’ve tried other places, and chose jitsu academy as my jiu jitsu home for the simple fact of its legitimacy. Give jitsu academy a try, I guarantee it’s worth it!!!!
