I tried a striking class with my friend who is a member here already. The atmosphere from the start was great! I arrived early to make sure I was prepared with waivers and whatnot, and I happened to see the head coach (Zach) finishing up one of classes for some of the younger members. It was immediately apparent that community and culture were among the top priorities. The kids were active and engaged-- as if it was the best day of their lives, while still taking heed to all of the instruction given. They finished up with a quick and positive recap of their class, and then my friend and I headed over to the area to prepare for the session. Zach introduced himself to all the new faces, and greeted the familiar ones as well. He made sure everyone was able to get a partner that would compliment their needs, and the class began. It was packed with active instruction, corrections, and enough exercise to wear yourself out. The intention behin
I’ve been training BJJ at Stout PGH for the past three years, and it’s been an incredible experience from day one. I’ve been solely training at the bridgeville location it opened. Coach Randy and Samm are outstanding instructors—technical, approachable, and deeply invested in every student’s growth, regardless of experience level. The environment is both challenging and supportive, with a strong sense of community that keeps you motivated to come back day after day. Whether you’re looking to compete or just improve your skills and fitness, this gym delivers. I can’t recommend it highly enough!
I’m so excited about the opening of the Bridgeville location, since it is closer to me than the Strip District one. I was happy to see the inside was so fresh and clean, there is a lot of space to roll and do Muay Thai, etc. This location also seems to have better acoustics, I could clearly hear the instructor which was great! Stout as a whole has been a great experience so it’s great to get additional locations for more schedule and area flexibility. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to learn some jiu jitsu!
I had the opportunity to visit Stout PGH last week while staying in the area for work. The staff, instructors and the team were more than welcoming and accommodating. I was able to take a Gi class as well as a No Gi class in the 2 days I was there and was very impressed with the details taught in each class. Really appreciate this opportunity cross train here and would recommend this place to anyone in the area.
Very welcoming - instructors and the other kids. Helped make a more shy kid engage quickly. Clean mats, nice facility. Lots of classes through the week. Awesome intro deal to see if it is for you or your child.
Recently joined this gym after finding out it was in the area. Staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and all the students I’ve met are very welcoming, with a big mix of varying skill levels. Super clean facility, with the mats and gear disinfected daily. They gave me a free trial period to see if I liked it before committing which was very nice.
