I am an adult (41) and I have been training at Prime Martial arts for a few years now. From my first ever class, I felt welcomed by Shihan Joe and by all the other adults in the class. Throughout the years, I now feel like a part of a community instead of just going somewhere a few nights a week to get a workout. Shihan Joe is engaging, funny, and so knowleadgable. He doesn't hesitate to tell you if you're doing a technique wrong, or if you're slacking off a little (guilty as charged) but he gives constructive criticism in such a kind and funny way and keeps you accountable. Coach Alexa and Coach Nate are also amazing, I don't have children but I have personally seen them working with children and they are amazing. They have so much patience and energy and the kids have such a great time while learning discipline and accountability. If you are looking for a place for you or your children to do martial arts, look no further!
From the very first class my son visited over a year ago, it was clear that Shihan Joe has a gift for instructing children. With core class values of Confidence, Respect, and Discipline, he makes sure every student feels heard and respected, as do the other instructors. My son has progressed through a few belt levels since then and continues to enjoy his experience at Prime. He is setting a goal for black belt, and has already used the skills he's learned so far to address a bullying and boundary setting issue at his school. Besides the skills building and positive mindset, I really like that the classes are a true physical workout for him (which is exactly what an active 10 year old boy needs!). He ends his sparring class sweating with the challenge!
Prime Martial Arts was the best decision for my son to gain confidence. He enjoys the classes so much and always wants to go. Sensei Joe and all of the coaches are wonderful. They really know how to empower children to increase their self esteem. The classes are impressive to watch. You can see the respect the kids have for all of the coaches. Prime Martial Arts is the best!!
Prime is great. Our daughter has been training for years and is now on the cusp of going for her black belt. During all that time there was never push back not wanting to go to class. The dojo is clean, welcoming small, family run business, not a franchise. They are passionate about the students bettering themselves.
My son loves going to Prime Martial Arts. He loves the instructors as they make the classes very fun and keep the kids learning all class long. He continues to learn something new every week. The instructors are great with all the kids
My son has been taking class at Prime MA for almost a year. What sets this center apart from others is the amazing ability of Sensei Joe and the other instructors to individualize learning in a safe, encouraging and fun way. Motivation runs high for my son and the other students as a result of the encouragement, specific feedback and opportunities to be recognized for growth. I’ve been impressed with students of all abilities improving physically while developing positive character traits. I highly recommend Prime MA.
