Training at Pride Mixed Martial Arts is by far one of the best things you can do! I began training at Pride when I was around seven years old. As a shy kid, the idea of entering a new place with new people was terrifying to me, but within my first couple of weeks, the gym had already begun to feel like home and the coaches like family. Now, ten years later, I am a first degree black belt under the incredible Coach Epps! My parents' main reason for putting me in martial arts was, of course, so I could learn self defense. But Pride has taught me so much more than that. At Pride, you will develop numerous traits such as confidence, self discipline, focus, self control, and perseverance. As soon as you walk through the doors, you become a part of the Pride family, and form long standing relationships with the both the coaches and your training partners. Pride has opened so many doors for me to grow into the best version of myself I can be-
It has been an honor to train under Coach Epps, Coach Jessie, and Coach Monkey. In the 3 months since I started training there I have already started to see a huge difference in my self confidence as well as my physical and mental well being. My body is stronger, my lower back problems I have been plagued with for the last 5 years or so have started to slowly slip away and my cardio is improving. The atmosphere at Pride is very relaxed and everyone makes you feel like you are family from day one, as well as having well taught classes with coaches that are extremely knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. It really is a great place to learn, weather you are an adult or child.
I have been training at Pride MMA for about 14 years, and the training i receive there is unparalleled. My entire family has trained under Coach Epps, and to my little brothers, Pride is their second home. The facility is top-notch, and the coaches are held to high standards to ensure that the kids are getting the best training possible for developing both physical and character traits. I am proud to be a part of the Pride Family!
It is an amazing facility, both clean and conducive to the classes offered. They also have a good selection of resources to help teach and reach personal goals. They have a diverse collection of courses available, with class times that can accommodate any schedule. Their staff AND members really keep me motivated and obviously want to be there. They are inviting and have a great attitude and philosophy. "Pride" is the perfect name for this perfect collection of souls. I'm proud to be a part of their family now - and sense of family is obvious. I encourage anyone to challenge themselves and be a part of this team.
My son and I have both taken classes at Pride MMA. The MMA classes have been great for my son's self esteem. They teach him discipline in a loving and safe environment. They perfectly balance being tough on the kids while still making sure they feel cared about and have fun. I do both the fitness classes and the adult MMA classes and love both. Every instructor I have worked with is both knowledgeable and personable. They also host several women's self defense workshops each year that are excellent.
Pride Mixed Martial Arts is unquestionably the apex of martial arts schools in the Oklahoma City metro area. In fact, the owner and lead instructor, Mr. Epps, is one of the most revered martial artists in the US. The instructors are well trained, well equipped, tactically flexible, and highly motivated to help their students accomplish their personal protection and fitness goals. Although extremely competent in their craft, they teach without ego through a humble spirit. My wife and I, and our four children, have trained at Pride for almost 15 years. I give Pride my highest recommendation.
