I highly recommend Harbor Jiu Jitsu for anyone looking to take their jiu jitsu training to the next level. As someone who started off training Gi jiu jitsu and wanted to expand my skills, I found the perfect fit with this gym. The head instructor, Bruce, is truly exceptional. His ability to break down and explain the moves is second to none. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced practitioner, he has the expertise to cater to all levels. One of the things that impressed me the most about Harbor Jiu Jitsu is the variety of classes they offer. With classes available every day, you can easily find a time that fits your schedule. When it comes to No Gi jiu jitsu, I haven't found a better place in South Jersey. The atmosphere at Harbor Jiu Jitsu is welcoming and supportive, creating the perfect environment for learning and growth. The training sessions are exceptional, pushing you to improve while also ensuring your safety. Overall, Harbor
Harbor Jiu-Jitsu is truly outstanding! The facility is always clean, creating a comfortable and safe environment for the kids. One of the best things about this school is how small kids and big kids train together. The older students set a great example, leading with kindness and discipline. When a younger student struggles with a technique, the bigger kids step in to help, fostering a strong sense of teamwork. Parents have a nice seating area to watch their kids progress, which is great. The instructors strike the perfect balance—gentle yet firm—ensuring that kids stay focused while still having fun. The training helps them develop discipline, focus, and valuable martial arts skills. The environment is welcoming, and you can tell it’s a great place to learn because long-time students are always willing to help and guide newcomers. Coach Albruce is hands-on, making sure each student gets the attention they need to improve. His dedicatio
Just took my first class at Harbor Jiu-Jitsu and had an amazing experience. The environment was super welcoming, and everyone—from the students to the instructors—was friendly and helpful. Al Bruce, the head instructor, is very technical, hands-on, and makes sure you understand the details. I did the Jiu-Jitsu class, followed by MMA Fundamentals and open mat—great conditioning, striking, and rolls all around. The class size was just right, and the vibe was focused but relaxed. I’ve trained at a few gyms before, and this one definitely stands out—10/10 recommend.
I can’t say enough good things about Harbor Jiu Jitsu! I was so nervous to start training, but Albruce made me feel so welcome my first day! I do both the jiu jitsu and mma classes, and even when I train with pretty advanced people they never make me feel bad about being a beginner and they’re always so helpful. I learn so much in every class and am so grateful for the community aspect this place provides. If you are looking for a jiu jitsu place this is the BEST one!!!
Harbor Jiu Jitsu is hands down the best academy in South Jersey. As a student for the past 1.5 years, I can confidently say that the emphasis on technique and safe training habits is truly impressive. Albruce takes the time to ensure that everyone understands the techniques before moving on. This has been super helpful in avoiding injuries and progressing my skills. What's more, the camaraderie among the students is amazing. Everyone is supportive and encourages one another. The students are also dedicated to pushing me to improve daily, which is super motivating. I really enjoy the laid-back atmosphere, and I feel like I'm part of a community here. Overall, Harbor Jiu Jitsu is an amazing place to train, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to get into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
I had the pleasure of visiting Albruce's academy while on a trip to the area and I must say I was thoroughly impressed. As soon as I walked through the doors, I felt welcomed and at home. Albruce displayed exceptional leadership and knowledge of Jiu Jitsu. The training environment was top-notch, and the students were extremely helpful in assisting me with techniques and answering any questions I had. The academy was clean, well-maintained, and overall a great environment to train at. If you're looking to improve your Jiu Jitsu skills or just looking for a great place to stay active and healthy, I highly recommend Albruce's academy. The experience was nothing short of amazing and I cannot wait to visit again. Thank you Albruce for a wonderful training experience. Will be back whenever I am in town.
