I am an adult blue belt in his late 40’s who has attended Family Training Center (FTC) for two years. I am married with a family and an engineer, businessman, and adjunct college professor. Students of every background and walk of life are welcome at FTC. At FTC the focus is how to be better and help the academy be better at every session. Professor Marcelo Oliviera, a 5th degree Black Belt and former MMA fighter with over 25 years of experience, teaches authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a semi-private setting at FTC that combines world-class instruction with a warm, supportive community. You immediately feel welcomed, whether you’re stepping on the mats for the first time or looking to refine advanced techniques. Family Training Center isn’t just a gym—it’s home. I first came here in 2017 during one of the hardest times of my life, and Professors Marcelo and Renata, along with their son Marcelinho, welcomed me like family. They’ve stood by me ever since, supporting me not only through jiu-jitsu but through life itself. The students here are incredible too—encouraging, humble, and always pushing each other to grow. The jiu-jitsu is world-class, but what makes this place truly special is the love, care, and community you feel the moment you walk through the door. Without them, I don’t know where I’d be today.
Our son started at Jiu Jitsu Family Training Center when he was just three years old, and two years later we can’t imagine him training anywhere else. The professors are welcoming and patient, yet firm in a way that earns the kids’ respect. They create such a positive environment where our son feels encouraged and excited to learn. We’re so grateful for Professors Marcelo and Renata and recommend the center it to all our friends. We can’t wait to see how our son continues to grow here.
Family Training Center is a unique school in that the comradery between us is something you won’t find anywhere else. My father and I started together about 8 months ago and we’re really enjoying the process of getting better. Everyone is super welcoming and ready to teach us.
