Chris is an amazing instructor and truly cares about people learning and developing on his mat. The facility is incredibly clean and well taken care of. The best thing about learning BJJ here is he give you a five day trial period. This ensures that someone new to jiu jitsu will take something away from their trial period. It wasn’t my first time doing jui jitsu but there are still moves and tactics I was taught during this trial period I use to this day. Locally owned and veteran owned. If you are questioning whether you should give Hunble Heathens a try, take this as your sign to do so. You will immediately feel like you are in a safe training environment where you can learn how to better yourself. If I could give them 10/5 stars I would.
I cannot recommend this gym enough! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and supported by both the coaches and members. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about jiu-jitsu, making each class a perfect balance of challenging and fun. Whether you're a beginner or have years of experience, there's something for everyone here. The atmosphere is positive and family-like, with a strong emphasis on respect, discipline, and personal growth. The training is intense yet tailored to each individual's skill level, and the sense of community keeps me motivated to keep coming back.
I have been with Humble Heathen for over a year now. There’s so much to say about the great Professors, Coaches (instructors), and fellow students that have positively impacted my health and well-being. My favorite class is Friday evenings instructed by an exceptional coach, Amanda Wilson. She has taken so much interest in all of us that she structures her teaching after watching, evaluating, and considering our physical strengths and limitations. In addition, she has sent me home with multiple books to read on jiu-jitsu, philosophy, and success. Such an inspirational coach that I am thankful for. I love all of our Humble Heathen community.
Humble Heathen is awesome! I emailed them for some info on trying it out and was emailed back quickly inviting me to class. I didn’t try it out right away and Chris sent me an email inviting me to a class. You get 5 free classes to try it out and the have Gi’s there to use for class. I was hooked after the first class! The instructors are friendly and welcoming as are the other students in the class. I’ve been meeting some great people and learning Jui Jitsu. Come give it a try!
I've been to multiple gyms In different areas and this gym definitely is a different type of atmosphere. It's a new gym - the facility is spacious with a good amount of mat space. The best quality is the atmosphere. Some places may be intimidating to people especially starting out. The instructor lightened the mood and was very friendly and the gym had an overall very welcoming environment. If you are just starting out especially or are hesitant about what your experience might be, this definitely might be the gym for you.
The instructors are amazing. My family and I have learned so much, and we appreciate the family friendly, zero ego atmosphere. Love that we get to do so many rolls as well as practice a skill every lesson. Thank you for the welcoming space and fun instruction!
