Grindhouse Grappling Nogi Jiu Jitsu reviews

Rated 5.0/5 across 64 Google reviews.

I've been coming to train at Grindhouse Grappling for about 3 weeks now, and I absolutely love it. Coach Denise shows practical, simple, and very effective techniques that work for all kinds of Jiu-Jitsu athletes/practitioners. Her approach to teaching is very nuanced and takes into account all the obstacles her students face. The students are friendly and easy to communicate with, an essential aspect of any grappling art, and are always willing to try new things. They all understand that folks who stop in are there to train and learn, and Coach Denise has definitely fostered and maintained that learning environment. As someone who has trained in Jiu-Jitsu and Judo now for 3 years, I highly recommend Grindhouse if you're in the Southern Colorado/Pueblo area.
Amazing gym! My kids love going to class and even look for rides from family when I'm working :) Coach Denise has created a BJJ family from the kids to the adults. She has a passion for BJJ which is evident in how she runs the classes and individualizes tasks and goals for each student. She takes the time to get to know her students and help them to develop their individual skillset. I highly recommend this gym.
I love this place, people and facility! The coach is safety oriented and very knowledgeable! Pueblo West has needed a place like this for a very long time now and I am so excited to be a part of this journey with my community! I have attended classes here along with my two boys since it’s been opened and loved every minute of it! This place is family, female and kids friendly and whoever you are. I do it it and so can any of you out there! Come get some Jiu Jitsu!!
Professor Denise is a phenomenal instructor. She welcomed my friends and I with open arms. It was no surprise when Denise informed me that she has a background in education. The way she articulates her instruction makes it easy for students of all skill levels to understand. She not only explains what to do but also the why. Furthermore, she explains that there is never just one answer to a problem and to keep an open mind to explore your options. She keeps the school immaculate—the mats are very clean! The atmosphere is great, Denise has a genuine passion for jiu jitsu and it shows. She cares about her students and their progression. She aims for the school to be a place where one can go after work or school in order to relax and destress through exercise. You can see this mentality trickle down to her students. I encourage you to make the trip out here and check out the school, you won’t regret it!!
Grindhouse is a safe place for all kiddos to learn a skill that will not only teach them to skills to protect themselves, but how to handle real world real life lessons they will carry with them their entire life. My son struggled with making friends, his confidence and with the training and environment that Grindhouse and Coach Denise have created have changed my son’s complete outlook on everything! My daughter also was inspired to join her brother on the mat and learn to be just as fierce! I have been to 2 training sessions and boy let me tell you, it’s pretty darn amazing! I would HIGHLY recommend this gym to both parents and adults! 10/10!!!!
My husband and his fellow Marine Corps flight students were looking for a place to train this weekend. He found GGA and Coach Denise to be so inviting even though they won’t be in CO for much longer. She offered them to return before they leave too! The class itself was informative, the environment was friendly, and they were so happy to have found GGA. He recommends for any level of training and truly is so happy to have found the gem that is Denise and the Academy.
