I've been training at this Jiu-Jitsu gym for about four years now, and I can confidently say it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. The coaches here are exceptional—friendly, knowledgeable, and fantastic communicators. Their ability to break down techniques and tailor their teaching to each individual's level has allowed me to progress faster than I ever imagined. But what truly sets this gym apart is the sense of community. I've developed so many close friendships over the years, and the environment is always welcoming and supportive. It's not just about the physical training; it's about being part of something bigger—a team that motivates and pushes each other to be better. This gym has also become a family affair for us. My spouse and I, along with our three kids, all train here. The coaches are incredible with the kids, teaching them discipline, respect, and self-defense in a fun and engaging way. Absolutely a top notch Jiu Jitsu school. Carlson Gracie Westminster is run by excellent instructors. They provide thorough and detailed instruction in everything from the most tried and true fundamentals to the lastet techniques used in the highest levels of competition. This is a clean school amd they take greta care of their mats. The students there are very dedicated and are excellent training partners. They're safe to trian with and respectful but very tough. There is a robust kids program, beginners fundamentals amd competition classes. This school would as well suited a place to start jiu-jitsu as it would be for a serious competitor. They offer a lot of extras, with stretching/ yoga classes and Muay Thai/ striking classes. It's a friendly welcome environment and I can't recommend it highly enough.
I came to Westminster JiuJitsu knowing only one person and having ZERO martial arts experience, but now 3 years later, this is where choose to spend time every day, to hang out with some of my best friends and to learn top notch jiujitsu! The community here is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in a gym, and as a female I felt comfortable with my training partners and coaches from day one. I now have a blue belt and can’t imagine training anywhere else! Thank you Coach Phil, Coach Brady and Coach Hector for making training my favorite part of the day, and for helping me become a little harder to kill! :)
I love this place. They have world-class coaches and fighters. Coach Philipp and Coach Brady are the nicest people you’ll ever meet. From time to time, you’ll have famous celebrities from the UFC or high-level BJJ coral belts come in to give seminars. Some professional fighters train here as well to prepare for their matches. Black belts from other disciplines like judo, karate, kenpo and muay thai train here too. It’s a village of respect and honor for all martial arts. Police, fire and military heroes are members of this mat. There is no ego here, everyone is always learning and training - and encouraging each other to become better martial artists and human beings. There is a spirit of respect and gratitude here. It’s a happy place to be. Come here if you’re looking to realign yourself right. The membership is very reasonably priced as well. A big plus. (:
I was invited to this dojo a few years ago as a complete beginner in martial arts and its been amazing to say the least. Everyone here has always been very welcoming, helpful, and non judgmental. All my training partners have always been encouraging and fun to train with. Coach Phil and Coach Brady are excellent coaches with a lot of knowledge. They are able to break things down in a way that is easy to understand. I look forward to every class more and more. I’ve developed a lot of healthy habits through training here that have impacted my personal life in a very positive way and pulled me through some hard times. Come down and try out some classes! You won’t regret it
The coaches here are amazing. They do so well with the kids to keep them focused and keep them safe. Coach Phil is a great teacher and keeps the kids interested. The coaches that help him out during the class are just as great, coach Bryce is always helping out and making sure kids stay safe and on task. I would definitely check this place out if you’re looking to put your kids in jiu jitsu!
