I came to Resilience BJJ looking for a place to train and a sense of community, and it was exactly what I received. This place is a family-friendly environment while also pushing you to train hard, and I've made friends with some of my training partners here. Professor Josh is excellent with teaching fundamentals, different forms of technique, and breaking things down if you ever need help. The teachers/coaches here are patient, understanding, and just overall great people. I've had some good conversations with Professor Josh and the coaches after training as well. There's also a great strength and conditioning classes taught by Nikki as well. I appreciate how Professor Josh incorporates this class in his academy because it really builds on my endurance and mobility necessary for my Jiu Jitsu training. Coach Nikki makes the class adaptable, challenging, and fun for everyone, and you will feel a great sense of accomplishment by the end o
When I was searching for a place to train jiu jitsu i contacted 4 different places. Josh from resilience bjj was amazing and immediately gave me information and invited me to train. I went to the first training by myself and felt very welcomed by everyone in the team. Everyone is really respectful and helpful. Being that I am a girl, I never thought I would feel comfortable training with the guys but they are all so nice and respectful. I also became friends with the other girls in the team and enjoy training with them. Josh is also very knowledgeable and is always helping you improve your technique and confidence.
Strength & Conditioning at Resilience Jiu-Jitsu Academy This class just works. It meets you where you’re at but pushes you to grow in ways you didn’t expect. Nikki runs a fast-paced, well-structured hour that covers everything: strength, mobility, flexibility, and cardio, without feeling overwhelming. The workouts are smart, well-modeled, and somehow get me to do all the things I usually avoid at the gym. But instead of dreading them, I leave feeling stronger, more balanced, and more capable. What sets this class apart is the thought behind it. Nikki isn’t just throwing together exercises, he’s building a program that makes sense. The training doesn’t just support jiu-jitsu; it improves movement in general. My endurance, control, and overall athleticism have noticeably improved, and I can feel the difference both on and off the mats.
I moved from Michigan only having been to one Jiu Jitsu academy in my life, so I was pretty nervous about which academy I'd join once I moved to Visalia. Josh and his coaches at Resilience were a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for someone who just moved from across the country. Not only that, but the instruction that you receive from Josh is some of, if not, the best. He has taken many, many courses on how adults best learn and it shows in the organization and effectiveness of each class. It's an excellent academy to learn the art of jiu jitsu, and a great place to make friends as well :)
I’ve been apart of the Resilience Jujitsu Academy for approximately 2 years now. The Resilience Jujitsu Academy has offered me the opportunity to grow, physically, and mentally stronger. This academy is equipped with a clean and safe environment for personal growth. In addition, this academy is staffed with professionals that not only guide you to success but provide a family orientated environment. I recommend this academy to all walks of life, from beginners to advanced, as you will be greatly satisfied each and every time you attend a training session.
I was in town for the night and was not looking forward to sitting in my hotel room. I currently train at CheckMat in Corona Ca and figured I would reach out and see if I could drop in for a class. The professors and the other students were extremely gracious in the way they welcomed me. If you’re looking to start Jiu Jitsu I would say this is a first class school to train and will try to drop in again if I am ever in town. Thanks again to the entire team!
