I have been training at Elite since its first year opening. Tom Knox has put together an amazing team consisting of pro MMA fighters, world jiujitsu champions and moms and dads training alongside their kids. The classes are tough, the training is hard (Elite is a competition hungry school with the medals to prove it), but the classes are not intimidating (you will always see advance students helping beginners get better). No egos, no bad attitudes or wannabe "tough guys", just good people who want to get better at the amazing art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Kickboxing, MMA, Ladies Only Classes, kids classes and more! My whole family trains at Elite and could not imagine training any place else.
Tom is very friendly and welcoming, so most of the toxic people get weeded out of his classes, leaving all very friendly and motivated students. Every class you attend will have a multitude of higher belt levels, the class I went to on Wednesday had like 8-12 black belts. The facility is clean and has plenty of amenities. Nogi and Gi classes happen daily except Sunday at multiple times, way more options than other gyms in the area.
I couldn’t recommend this gym enough! The incredibly welcoming atmosphere, high level of training and wide skill levels of practitioners made the classes fun, exciting and dynamic. Tom (the owner and coach) is a master of his craft. The other coaches all have unique styles to learn from and improve your game. If you’re in town looking for a drop in, or just starting your jiu-jitsu journey, you’ve found your gym.
Tom and the entire crew at Elite Team Visalia are absolutely amazing. We were unsure how our kids would handle being tossed into a completely new environment, but the instructors at Elite Team know exactly how to acclimate newcomers and make them feel welcomed. Couldn't have picked a better establishment to familiarize my kids with the sport of BJJ!
Outstanding martial arts academy. My son, daughter, and I train at this jiu jitsu school due to the family environment and high level instruction from Tom Knox. I reccomend this academy to all my friends, family, and the community.
World class bjj gym. Trained for a month while visiting town for work, and loved it. Awesome coaches, awesome students, and clean/big facility. Will visit again when I'm in town.
