Even in the co-ed classes, the environment is always respectful and uplifting. This place is truly special. Each and every one of us come from a different walk of life- ups, downs, traumas, stagnancies, challenges- over all humanitarian experiences. Coming here has allowed me to face aspects of myself that I have been needing to meet with, to fine tune, condition and heal. Going beyond the physicalities of this martial art- practicing jiujitsu at Gracie barra has allowed me to touch bases on mind body and spirit. To witness my discomforts, to work with them- and working towards the transmutation of them. I started training at GB Ventura at the beginning of last year. There's a great family vibe. The professors and coaches are detail oriented and patient, as well as beasts on the mat. The schedule is full of available times to train and there is something for everyone-- from the newest white belts to seasoned black belts, kids to adults, hobbyists to competitors. No egos here, just a gym full of people who love Jiu-Jitsu.
Great academy and great environment. The instructors are world class! Kids and adult classes. Beginners are brought up gradually. Wide range of skill levels and sizes for training partners. The mental and physical health benefits speak for themselves, but training in an environment like this makes it even better. I recommend anyone that is looking to start or continue their jiujitsu journey give GB Ventura a try.
Highly recommend this facility. Every single professor, instructor, and member is very friendly and warm. You will feel very comfortable during your training with not only your body but also your mind challenged appropriately! On top of the wonderful jiu jitsu facility, the new strength and conditioning side is wonderful! Everything you need to have a great workout with machines, barbells and dumbbells/kettlebells and a turf for your hyrox needs.
This is my first time doing BJJ and so far it’s been amazing. The atmosphere walking into the academy is so welcoming and everyone is very kind. Professor is very hands on with making sure that you fallow along and understand the techniques. For some one like me that’s is new to Bjj make it easy to fallow along. This is my first month and so far I have enjoyed every minute. I highly recommend Gracie Barra Ventura to all my friend’s and family. Thank you making me feel welcomed.
