There’s not enough words in the English dictionary to describe how much I love this place! You always see companies describing their business, employees, customers as “one big family” and I’ve never felt that more than here at Gracie Barra, Redondo Beach! I love everyone here, the coaches, the professor, the parents, the students, Erica, and baby Thai at the front desk who are all so so welcoming, friendly, and supportive. They’ve really made this a respectable, fun, and safe environment. I smile from ear to ear whenever I’m here watching my daughter on the mats. When your child starts their first session, it maybe a little intimidating/nerve racking for them, and you as a parent, but, not only do the staff and coaches make you feel at ease, the students will even put an arm around any new student that is in attendance, they’ll pick them up when they fall, hug them when they’re upset, teach them the moves and encourage them. Gracie Barra Redondo Beach has a high quality training taught by black belt world champions and also has a friendly and welcoming environment! They have such an amazing community!
Professor Murillo and the other coaches provide a great energy for my beginner son who was initially hesitant to start his journey of jiu-jitsu, but now he loves going and hand hanging out with his BJJ friends! Gracie Barra is a great, clean studio with positive energy. I recommend this to anyone starting their jiu-jitsu journey or any current student looking for a positive supportive environment!
I’ve been wanting to try BJJ for a few years now. After 15+ yrs in martial arts BJJ looked like the next step. But I’m old, out of shape and a bit nervous. This studio immediately made me feel like family. I’m grateful to learn from professor Murillo and the gentlemen monsters I’m training with. Now I gotta get my kids into this. I highly recommend this academy to anyone thinking to make the step towards jiu jitsu.
