After training at Canvas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for almost a year, I feel compelled to share my exceptional experience with others. From day one, the welcoming environment made me feel like part of the family. What sets Canvas apart are the multiple classes offered throughout the day, accommodating even the busiest schedules, and the invaluable open mat sessions that allow for extra practice and sparring with diverse partners. Professor Anthony, the head instructor, is the epitome of professionalism and skill. His approach to teaching is both accessible for beginners and deeply enriching for advanced practitioners. He ensures that every class is not just about learning techniques but about growing as a person both on and off the mat. The location is another huge plus, being conveniently situated next to Nijiya Market, making it easy to grab a healthy snack or meal after a tough training session. This proximity adds to the overall experienc
This post is long overdue as my two daughters started at the Canvas kids program at the very beginning in July 2023. They love learning from Coach Keziah, Coach Alinah, Coach Isaiah and Coach Elijah because they create a fun and engaging environment. I love that there are unlimited classes offered 5 days a week and how my girls are given the opportunity to participate in younger classes as the coach's assistants. I wanted to keep this place a secret so it doesn't become overcrowded, but it's hard not to share your love for Canvas. I'm so glad that Professor Anthony was able to grow this dream of his. We hope to continue growing with Canvas as well.
Professor Anthony and his team are great instructors. I've been training off and on over a year. My son also trains at the dojo. The professors are patient, kinds, knowledgeable and really good at breaking down techniques. Me and my son were able to learn some techniques quickly and practice them with other people on the mats. A side note is the dojo offers Judo and Wrestling which are both great skills to add to a solid BJJ game. If you are looking for a dojo that's fun, has a family vibe and provides opportunities to train hard, Canvas is the spot.
Professor Anthony is a great instructor and his Martial Arts Studio is perfect for anyone looking to roll for the first time (Me) or their 1000th. They have classes for all ranges and even provide courses for other martial arts besides BJJ as well! He provides Gis for beginners without the proper attire, and washes them clean after every use. He also sanitizes all his equipment and mats after every session! His studio is also in a very convenient plaza, right next to Nijiya Japanese market and Red Rock! Across the street you can pick up tasty ramen or McDonald's as well. Keep up the good work and keep Rollin!
I’ve only trained at Canvas on Open Mats, but I’ve really enjoyed the vibe here. Anthony (head coach/owner) is friendly and welcoming, and all the students are great rolls. I come for Saturday Gi Open Mat to roll with brown and black belts and I always learn something. It’s a great place to learn BJJ!
I have all 3 of my kids enrolled. And they absolutely love going. Coach K (Keziah) is super patient and encouraging. And her sister Coach A makes learning BJJ so much fun! I honestly don’t know how the coaches get all the kids to focus and listen. We love Canvas BJJ!!
