I’ve been training at SOJ BJJ since the start of the year after moving from out of state, and I’ve trained at several BJJ gyms in the past. Having that comparison, I can honestly say this is the most modern, clean, and beautiful BJJ gym I’ve ever seen. There’s tons of natural sunlight, floor to ceiling windows, and wide open mat space. It genuinely feels like the Apple Store of BJJ gyms. Taidi is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and what really stands out is how he teaches. He focuses heavily on concepts and the why behind techniques, not just memorizing moves. He’s extremely patient and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure you understand. The community here is also amazing. Everyone is welcoming, friendly, and easy to connect with. There are no egos at all, and it truly feels like a family gym. Taidi’s entire family trains here, it’s welcoming for kids, beginners, and experienced practitioners alike. Even though I’ve prac
Signature of Jiu Jitsu in Belmont is an excellent academy, and my experience has been outstanding. The facility is always clean and well maintained, with spotless mats and a professional, welcoming training environment. Professor Taidi is a strong leader and an exceptional coach who works effectively with students of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. His leadership has created a welcoming, team-oriented environment for all skill levels, where members consistently support one another and work together to improve. The class schedule is very accommodating, with classes offered throughout the day, seven days a week, making it easy to train even with a busy schedule. Whether your goals are fitness, self-defense, competition, or simply learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Signature of Jiu Jitsu provides an opportunity for everyone to accomplish their goals. Highly recommended.
I joined Signature Jiu Jitsu last month. I came in having some BJJ experience, and though I still consider myself a beginner, the transition to SOJ has been amazing. The teaching here is really what sets it apart. Professor Taidi is incredible—he is so focused on the fine details and technique, which is exactly how I learn best. He’s patient, responsive to questions, and you can tell he genuinely loves sharing his knowledge. His daughter, Yasmin, also coaches and she is excellent; she has a wealth of knowledge and a great way of talking you through the steps and drills so they actually make sense. I really appreciate the class structure. The beginner and intermediate classes are leveled correctly, and the way they structure the weekly curriculum also helps the learning. Working on the same moves throughout the week with slight variations provides the repetition I need to actually make the techniques stick. A few other things that make t
Are you looking for a healthy midlife-crisis activity? Do you spend your day driving your kids to their fun activities wishing you had one of your own? Is primal screaming into the void/PowerPoint no longer cutting it for stress-management? Look no further than SoJ’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Training at Signature of Jiu Jitsu in Belmont has been transformational. It’s a full-body workout that complements whatever else you’re doing (cardio, HIIT, yoga), and it’s a lot more fun than just trying to lift slightly heavier weights every week. Also, nothing humbles you quite like getting folded into a pretzel by someone half your size. Professor Taidi, Coach Yasmin, and the SOJ team are fantastic. They ease beginners in safely and patiently- even people like me who had never tried martial arts before. They take the time to explain the small technical details that actually make things work, and the focus on fundamentals means you’re constantly lear
We absolutely love Signature of Jiu-Jitsu! Professor Taidi and Coach Yasmin are outstanding instructors and role models who bring their genuine love for the sport to every single practice. They are incredibly warm and have welcomed us into their community with open arms, showing us the true Jiu-Jitsu way of life. Taidi’s new studio is amazing—I am so impressed with what he and his family have built here. It’s more than just a gym; it’s a community. If you’ve ever thought about trying Jiu-Jitsu, you should definitely come by and check it out firsthand! It is great for kids, beginners, or people looking for a fun way to exercise.
Signature of Jiu Jitsu: A welcoming family oriented martial arts in the Bay Area. Great for young kids who are interested in starting for the first time & or excellent for veterans who wish to return training. #1 priority in the gym is safety. #2 is training hard to surpass limits. Signature Bjj offers experience on and off the mat. A place to leave ego aside for the sole purpose of growth. The gym does not shame or judge. They elevate. Personally, I’ve crossed paths with numerous academy’s/ gymnasium’s regarding training self defense & offense. Without a doubt, mention that professor Taidi pertains not only a vast knowledge on Brazilian jiu jitsu and Japanese judo, however, a caring heart who genuinely enjoys teaching what he loves. Highly recommend young blood & old heads to swing by and try out a free trial!
