Gracie Jiu Jitsu Beverly Hills is amazing! I hadn't trained jiu jitsu for a few years and as always was a little nervous about walking into a new gym, but from the moment I walked in, everyone was incredibly welcoming. The friendly atmosphere made me feel right at home instantly. The instructors are top-notch and really take the time to make sure you understand the techniques. Whether you're a complete beginner or getting back into it, they have a way of making the classes engaging and fun. I was able to brush up on my skills and learn new ones without feeling overwhelmed. The training partners were great too - super supportive and respectful. It's clear that this gym fosters a strong sense of community and camaraderie. If you're considering training jiu jitsu, I highly recommend Gracie Jiu Jitsu Beverly Hills. It's the perfect place to train, meet awesome people, and improve your skills. Five stars all the way! Cheers, Kev
Gracie Beverly Hills (GBH) is a great choice for jiu jitsu, whether you are a beginner or a player with experience. After researching options, I chose to join this school. If you don’t know, GBH is affiliated with Gracie University: the home of BJJ in the United States founded by UFC creator Rorion Gracie, the visionary son of Helio Gracie (the originator of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu). In short, if you believe pedigree matters, look no further. Gracie University is now run by Rorion’s sons, Ryron and Rener, who continue to develop the Gracie philosophy, which aims to encourage and retain students. Mike Everett, GBH’s owner, is a Gracie black belt (search YT for “flowmaster mike”) and runs the academy as a “Level 4” training center. This means GBH has programs suited for players with widely different goals. Whether motivated to learn self-defense or prefer to test yourself in competition, there are classes and players here that will work with
When I first joined the academy, I had been training at another BJJ school for a few months and was left wanting more. What got me here and hooked was the Combative's Program. Combatives was an amazing introduction to BJJ and created a foundation of knowledge that I still use today. It was empowering to have such a great beginner curriculum. I've been training at Gracie Jiu Jitsu Beverly Hills for about 3 years now. The facilities are well maintained, Instructors are fantastic & certainly invested in everyone's progression. The culture here assures you are learning in a progressive & safe environment that facilitates growth. I am proud to be a part of the community which is Gracie Jiu Jitsu Beverly Hills. So if you ever wondered about trying BJJ, l'd highly recommend coming in for your intro class. You'll be glad you did. See you on the mat!
Great school in my opinion. They actually have curriculum for the jiu-jitsu training. I’m doing Combatives program and I enjoy every training session. The combination of great instructors, individual attention if needed and attention to details in technique really make this school a very good place to train martial art of jiu-jitsu. Very professional but friendly in the same time. My instructors are Mike (black belt), Alex (brown belt) and Dave (purple belt) - they have very good communication skills, explain well and always there to help students to learn and grow. Highly recommend this jiu-jitsu school for everyone regardless of skill level and age!!!
I have 28 years of martial arts experience, and I have taken classes at 6 different jiu-jitsu schools around the country. Gracie Jiu Jitsu Beverly Hills has the most organized curriculum by far, and is the most beginner-friendly. Their Combatives Program gives new students a foundation in the original form of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that was developed for no-holds-barred fights against practitioners of any style. Modern sport jiu jitsu that you will learn in most other schools has evolved to be extremely technical but offers no protection from punches, kicks, biting, anything that falls outside the sport's rule set. There are students here that compete in and win such tournaments, and their game is based on fundamentals that work in self-defense.
My son likes his 5-7 year old class. He likes the dodge ball. They teach a little bit of technique, but it is mostly play based learning. 4x a month is too little IMO to learn Jiu-Jitsu, but that's the subscription we are on. Location is good for us. There are other places that you'll get more classes out of for $150, but it sometimes what fits your schedule. Nice instructors. They control the class well most of the time. Front desk is friendly too. PARKING If you're taking 4-5p class, Reeves is 2 hours free parking. 5p-6p class, try Gregory and you might find a metered spot and it is free after 6pm. Otherwise, I've had to park elsewhere and walk 15 minutes. -1 star for bad web site and I can't find the schedule on the web site. I asked them to fix it, but front desk can't seem to forward it to the right people.
