From the moment we stepped through the doors, we felt welcomed and part of something special. The training is top-notch, and every class is structured, challenging, and rewarding—no matter your experience level. The coaches are phenomenal. Professor Justin, Rudy, Ruben, Vanessa, Christian, and Mike are super passionate, incredibly professional, and dedicated to each student’s growth in every session. They not only push you to improve, but also take the time to explain techniques in a way that’s easy to understand and apply. Their encouragement and support make all the difference, especially when you’re first starting out. What really sets GB Fullerton apart is the strong sense of community and family. Gracie Barra Fullerton has been amazing for my 4 year old! The classes are fun, engaging, and perfect for helping him burn energy while learning focus, discipline, and respect. I’ve already seen a difference in how he listens—not just in class but at home too! The coaches are fantastic with kids, creating a welcoming but structured environment. My son especially loves training with Coach Mike, Coach Rudy, and Professor Justin—just to name a few! Communication with Justin has been great and easy, which makes the whole experience even better. The gym is clean, family-friendly, and a great place to build confidence and real self-defense skills. We did a few free trial classes with no pressure to sign up, and I’m so glad we did! If you have a high-energy kid, BJJ is a great way to channel it in a positive way. Highly recommend!
I've been at Grace Barra Fullerton for about 1.5 months now. I signed up myself, my five year old son, and my five year old niece. I have to say it has been an awesome experience so far! All of us felt very welcomed by the coaches and Professor Justin. They are super patient and helpful in teaching us JiuJitsu. For the Kids, the coach to child ratio here is about 1:4 (1 coach to four kids) which I've noticed at other gyms, can be 1 coach to 8 kids. My child works really well with Coach Mike, but all the coaches are great with kids. The adult classes (which I do) is a lot of fun and plan on continuing on as long as I can here at Grace Barra Fullerton!
We've had a fantastic experience with Gracie Barra Fullerton. The professors have been incredibly helpful, supportive, and patient. Justin is extremely organized and always knows what’s going on, which keeps everything running smoothly. One of the things we value most is the instructor-to-student ratio—there are always enough instructors for the number of kids. When the kids break into groups, there’s always someone there to teach, watch, and give corrections. There's no wasted time or unnecessary waiting, and the classes stay focused and efficient. Our kids have learned so much—not just in technique, but also in discipline, confidence, and respect. It’s been amazing to see their growth both on and off the mat.
We LOVE Gracie Barra Fullerton! I have 2 kids (11 year old girl & 9 year old boy) that have been attending this gym for the past 2+ years. Professor Justin and all the coaches are beyond amazing-- patient, knowledgeable, and stern yet fun. They create a fun, safe, and encouraging environment where kids of all ages and skill levels can thrive. My kids have not only improved their physical fitness and skills but they also gained confidence, discipline and got a sense of community. They are both determined to get a black belt under Professor Justin! I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a great place for jiu-jitsu.
I have been training at Gracie Barra Fullerton for nearly a month. I've truly enjoyed my experience. With 13 years of karate background, I affirm that how this studio trains is effective and disciplined, but also communal and inviting. I've discovered BJJ to be a complicated and intensely physical art, in which Professor Justin is evidently gifted at instructing. I was welcomed warmly by the coaches and fellow students. The coaches recognize the vulnerabilities of the newcomer. The students that I train with honor the limitations inevitable of white belt, while challenging me and setting a standard that I can aspire to. I hope to continue this new journey anchored at Gracie Barra Fullerton.
