I recently signed up for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which I was very nervous about because I had zero martial arts experience, zero wrestling experience, and I think I'm a little older for being a newbie. I had an opportunity to meet the owner before I signed up, and I was immediately impressed. He took time to answer my questions and invited me to sit in and watch the class before I signed up. So far the experience has been 100% positive. I have taken classes from a few different instructors, and they have all been attentive, understanding, and encouraging. Additionally, the other students in the classes are respectful, and I have felt welcomed into the classes from Day 1. I learn something new every class I attend, and it's also the best workout I've had in a long time. I have really enjoyed it so far, and I would highly recommend Pacific Martial Arts to others. I also signed my 5-yr-old up for Little Ninjas. He loves it, and the instructor
When I first started taking Muay Thai at Fresno PMA, I had no experience and considered myself to be a major beginner. Now, I’ve been attending Muay Thai classes for a year and 5 months, and I absolutely love it! Coach Pete is great and is extremely helpful! It doesn’t matter whether you are a newbie or someone who has been training in Muay Thai for years, Pete will build you up and will definitely do his best to help you advance and refine your skills. Everyone in the class is also so friendly, and are willing to help you too if you have any questions. It’s such a great Muay Thai community, and I thank God for giving me the blessing of having such a great coach and great friends! I always look forward to going to the next class!
I moved to Fresno after having trained for ~5 years in other states. After dropping in at a few schools I found PMA. It was an easy decision to sign up immediately. They are an absolutely fantastic jiu jitsu school with an excellent training environment. The coaches are all knowledgeable and friendly. The training is challenging but always safe. They regularly compete at local tournaments and do very well. There's something for everyone at this school, be it the casual newcomer or serious competitor. Definitely my #1 choice for BJJ in the Fresno area!
I have been coming to Pete’s Muy Thai classes for a little over a month now and I am so glad I started! The atmosphere is so welcoming, and clean!! The class goers are kind and those who are more advanced do not hesitate to help when they can too, which is always a plus. I’ve learned so much in a short time and it’s a killer workout, once I walked in with a braid and came out with a straight pony tail (worked the hairdo right out of me lol). If you’re thinking of taking a class as a beginner or as someone who already has knowledge of the sport, you won’t be sorry. It’s really got something for everyone. Thank u Pete and Pacific Martial Arts 😊
I've taken BJJ and Muay Thai at PMA and was completely satisfied with the teaching, the facility, and the coaches. The BJJ coach Ed was knowledgeable and patient and made sure everyone understood what was supposed to happen. The Muay Thai coach Pete pushed us to be better. He helped each one of us fix the mistakes we were making to help us become more proficient. Both of these coaches also made everyone feel like they had a family at the facility. I recommend PMA to everyone looking into learning martial arts.
Ed offered to give my entire unit a free course in Jiu Jitsu. He was an awesome and professional instructor that knew how to assess the needs of his students. Additionally, his gym was one of the nicest gyms I've seen with tons of space during rolling. Ed refused to allow us to pay anything and made us feel appreciated. The soldiers were raving about how much fun they had the entire day despite being pushed to their physical limits during drills. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone thinking about getting into the BJJ world or changing gyms.
