Coach Paulo Nelson is an exceptional instructor, highly skilled, patient, and passionate about teaching. The environment is welcoming and supportive for adults, kids, and especially women. The facility is also very clean—the mats and bathrooms are always well-maintained, and the space is well-ventilated, which makes a big difference during training. Whether you’re looking to build confidence, improve fitness, or learn practical self-defense, Taurus offers top-quality training in a friendly, community-focused setting. Highly recommended.
Taurus MMA is not only a wonderful place to train but also a great community, there is no doubt that you’ll feel welcome into the family immediately. Coach Paulo is a passionate instructor and gives his all every class to make sure everybody is able to reach their goals, regardless of what their reason for training is. The best part however is the culture, the group is very tight-knit and the support and camaraderie from every single person is authentic, classes are challenging but the great energy from everyone makes every class something to look forward to, not dread. I’ve personally had the honor of following Coach Paulo since his beginnings at Kings MMA and to witness and be a part of what he has built to this point is something I’m extremely grateful to be a part of!
My child loves taking Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and kickboxing classes at Taurus MMA! Coach Paulo and his family are kind and very welcoming to the students and their families. Coach Paulo is a great coach who is very supportive and provides a good balance of keeping the students focused/engaged/working hard during training and makes training fun as well. Taurus MMA provides a positive and encouraging environment for students to train. I highly recommend this gym!
I been training with coach Paulo for about 3 years. It all started with a self defense with private classes. I was to afraid to be in classes or spar with someone else. But I started to build confidence with the time. He is a very professional and a very hard core coach. Im 41 years old and I been trying in the classes and I love it. People are very patient and make you feel like family. If you're looking for a place to learn Brazilian martial arts this is the right place. Cassie his wife will definitely walk you thru the gym.
Coach Paulo is incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, always pushing me to be my best self. clean, spacious training areas. The atmosphere at the gym is welcoming and inclusive, with members of all skill levels training together and encouraging each other. I've made so many new friends and feel like I'm part of a real community here. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to improve their MMA skills, get in shape, and have a great time while doing it.
My son’s been going to Turaus MMA Gym for a few months now and he absolutely loves it. Coach Paulo is awesome—super patient with the kids and really knows how to keep them engaged while teaching them solid skills. Since starting, my son’s confidence and discipline have grown a ton. He looks forward to every class, whether it’s BJJ or kickboxing, and it’s great to see him so excited about training. Honestly, this place has been such a positive experience for him. Highly recommend!
