My 7-year-old started at Alliance Jiu Jitsu National City about a month ago and he’s obsessed. Best thing we’ve done for him. Coach Peter runs an awesome kids class – super structured, zero chaos, and he’s 100% in charge (no parents yelling from the side). If the kids goof off or aren’t listening they drop and do push-ups… my son actually likes it because it’s fair and he’s learning real discipline. The place is always clean, bathrooms smell good, changing rooms are nice, and the parents area has comfy seats and water. They even give stripes for good behavior at home and school, not just on the mat. You can tell Peter knows his stuff and the kids respect him like crazy. My son’s already more confident and focused. If you’ve got a kid in National City or Chula Vista, just bring them in for a trial. You’ll see what I mean. 100% recommend!
My kids have been coming here 6 days a week, and it has honestly become like a second family to us. The coaches are fantastic patient, motivating, and truly dedicated to helping each child grow not only in jiu jitsu, but also in confidence and discipline. The parents here are also amazing and welcoming, which creates such a positive environment for everyone. I’ve seen so much growth in my kids since joining, and they genuinely love coming every day. We’re very grateful to be part of this community. Highly recommend to any family looking for an encouraging and supportive place for their children!
I've been training at this jiujitsu gym for 2 months and it's been an amazing experience! Professor Piter Frank and Vinny Dias are top-notch, super knowledgeable, and really care about helping you improve. The classes are challenging but fun, and the atmosphere is welcoming and supportive. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced grappler, you'll find a place here. I've not only learned a ton about jiujitsu but also gained confidence and made some great friends. Highly recommend checking this place out!
My 6 year old son has been doing jiu-jitsu for a full year now. He started with Coach Piter, and we followed him from Escondido to National City. We’ve loved seeing how much it has helped him build discipline, confidence, and grow both on and off the mat. We absolutely love Coach Vinny and were so grateful that both coaches were there for his last competition. They truly care about the kids, creating a fun, safe, and supportive environment while building genuine relationships with each child. Highly recommend!
My 7yo daughter started at Alliance with no prior martial arts experience, and I couldn’t be happier with how much she’s grown. Not just in skill, but in confidence and discipline. The coaches and professors are absolutely fantastic with the kids. They strike the perfect balance between being strict and structured while still being caring, patient and encouraging. It’s been amazing to watch my daughter learn how to focus, respect others and push herself while still having a ton of fun. The environment is positive, safe and very well-run. You can tell the instructors truly care about each student’s progress. If you’re thinking about signing your child up for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, I can’t recommend Alliance enough. Even if your kid has zero experience, they’ll feel welcome, supported, and challenged in the best way possible.
My son has been going to the youth class since the beginning of the year, since the day we had his trial, we've felt like family :) the gym is very welcoming. We have met great people throughout our time at Alliance! Parents are able to sit and watch the classes (and most do), instructors are very hands-on, informative and friendly! I appreciate everything Vinny and Piter do for my son as well as the other students. I plan on keeping my son here as long as we're in San Diego!
