Blue Dragon is amazing thanks to Sensei Daniel. My kids aren't, as they say... Focused at the best of times, let alone after a long day at school. We signed up after talking to the owner about our concerns. We got uniforms and Gloves for taekwondo (jiu jitsu uniforms are separate, but not needed to start) and started showing up. The first couple classes were pretty rough, but every day they are reminded to show respect and they are slowly getting it. That's not to say they don't have rough days and have to do a lot of pushups and occasionally have to take some time outs, but thanks to Sensei Daniel's patience and consistency, I'm seeing steady improvements. It's a flat rate for however many taekwondo and jiujitsu classes you want to take a week. We end up going to 3-4 classes a week. First of all, the Sensie’s are amazing. Sensie Tony and Daniel are very caring, trustworthy, and very knowledgeable in the field of Martial Arts. They not only teach Takewondo, Muay Thai, Boxing, Jiu Jitsu, Kung fu (to name a few) but they also teach SELF-CONFIDENCE, SELF-ESTEEM, DISCIPLINE, FOCUS, RESPECT, and SELF-CONTROL. Our son started at Blue Dragon MMA when he was 6 and has been there for nearly 2 years now. We were hesitant at first to sign him up because he can be very shy and sensitive and he's not aggressive at all. However, Master Tony and his instructors are very good with the kids and made him feel comfortable. Because this is an MMA dojo, kids have the opportunity to learn various martial arts including Taekwondo, Jujitsu, sparring, etc., all of which we feel have real world applicability. Another bonus is that Master Tony gives kids the opportunity to participate in tournaments by joining the Demo/Competition Team. This is where our son REALLY grew in his skill set and confidence. He's now one of the top kids in his division in the nation. And BD's prices cannot be beat, which is the reason we signed up in the first place. Blue Dragons Marshal Arts by Sensei Tony Caravelli is the best marshall arts school in Eastern Chula Vista. We have three sons and one has already completed his black belt and BDMA contributed a lot to him being an excellent student and athlete in high school and college. We have two more sons who are entering their 3rd year, who love every class and cant wait to get thei black belts. The lessons are challenging but also fun and we have seen so many kids grow and develop to their fullest potential. Sensei Michael and Chez are great world class instructors who take the time to ensure the kids are learning and are challenged every class.. Keep up the good work BDMA!!
Ok where do I start, over 4 years ago my son was 8 years old and decided to quite football and wanted to try the sport of Karate. Here we are now going in to the 5th year and he is still with the program, hoping to gain the rank of Black belt in the future. Keep in mind that this is not a seasonable sport so I personally was amazed that he had suck with the program this long and I am proud of him. I feel that the main reasons that Bluedragon's studio seems to be focus on youth programs and development. The Staff are excellent trained and have a wide variety of skills. The programs not only has helped my son develop his MMA skill level but more import to me is his mental and maturity level. Sensei Tony's program requires that his students not only grow in the martial arts program but also requires to maintain good academics at school. We have been with BDMA for over 3 years and I can not say enough nice things about them. Master Tony and the other instructors are amazing with the kids at every level of training both in Taekwondo and Jujitsu. The instructors are firm, but patient and make sure that each student feels successful during every class. Great place for kids and adults to take classes at any level.
