I have been a student of Professor Gabriel Goulart for a couple of years prior to him opening this beautiful academy in the heart of the SFV. His ability to teach jiu jitsu to persons of all ages is simply incredible. He teaches with the deepest of passion and really strives to see his students succeed on and off the mat. He is backed by a world renowned team through Alliance Jiu Jitsu and strives to uplift the community and all students that come through his door. It doesn't matter if you have been training for years or your first day, I strongly encourage you to visit this beautiful academy and meet the staff and professors here at this Alliance Jiu Jitsu school.
I dropped in for a class at Alliance San Fernando Valley and had such a great experience. The mats are honestly some of the best I’ve ever rolled on — super clean and just the right amount of bounce, which makes a huge difference when you're training hard or drilling throws. Gabriel is a phenomenal instructor. He has a calm, confident presence and explains everything really clearly. Whether you're brand new or more advanced, he meets you where you're at and pushes you in the right way. The vibe at the gym is super welcoming and respectful. You can tell they take their training seriously, but there’s no ego. I left feeling sharper, inspired, and already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend to anyone in the area or just visiting and looking for a top-notch Jiu Jitsu experience.
I recently tried my very first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class at Alliance, and I can honestly say it was one of the most humbling and empowering experiences I’ve ever had. Walking in, I was nervous and I definitely felt out of my comfort zone. But from the moment I stepped onto the mat, Professor Gabriel and the other students welcomed me with open arms, patience, and encouragement. You can tell they care deeply about every single person who walks in, whether you’re brand new or a seasoned athlete. The class itself was a perfect balance of challenge and fun. Even though I was a total beginner, everything was explained clearly and supportively. BJJ is such a beautiful mix of strategy, technique, and movement. It felt like a workout for both my body and my mind. And what really stood out to me was the sense of community. Everyone was so encouraging and respectful. To anyone who’s been thinking about trying it but feels intimidated: do it. Espe
