Tons of mat space, excellent instructor, friend/family atmoshphere, kids class, clean bathroom/shower, and tough adults training classes. You can see all of Dan's students just love training here. Dan teaches both old and new school technique. He also has a 80" TV screen on the wall where he plays the days instruction. Confused on a technique during class and the instructor is on the other side helping someone else out? No pronblem, just take a look at the 80" replaying the days technique until he gets to you. Genius! You can see Dan's training videos on Youtube under 'TrumpetDanBJJ'. If you're looking to get back into shape, looking for self defense, or want to learn BJJ to compete or MMA, this is your place. Come in for a class and experience it yourself. You'll get a warm welcome, great instruction and training, and you'll more than likely leave with a smile on your face wondering why you didn't start sooner!
Excellent Jiu Jitsu school. My 5yr old and I both train here and the instruction is top notch. Coach Dan is a Brea Unified school teacher by trade so he knows a thing or two about teaching. My kid loves the classes because technique is integrated with lots of fun and games. The mat is huge and its always clean and there is a 80" TV mounted with the day's technique playing during the class so that if there is some confusion about the move and Dan is helping another student, you can just look up and there it is. What a great idea! There are both serious competitors as well as people just looking for a good work out in the classes. One other bonus, a shower!!!! If you are looking for a school, this is one of the best. Try it, it may just change your life.
Brea Jiu-Jitsu is a fun, safe learning environment that is lead by a very passionate instructor. Dan is very knowledgeable about the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and really cares about his students. Dan's detailed instruction make Brea Jiu Jitsu one of the top schools in Orange County whether you are a veterano or a newbie. I love training at Brea Jiu Jitsu and highly recommend it to everyone I know.
Dan might not be a black belt (yet), but his instruction goes far and beyond most other academies. The fundamental difference between Dan and most other instructors is that he is not teaching jiu-jitsu because he has to, Dan teaches because he is genuinely passionate about his craft. Dan is also more articulate than most other instructors, and is able to break the art of jiu-jitsu down to such detail that his lessons are easily digestible for practitioners of all experience levels. If you haven't already, I would highly recommend you try a class and see for yourself what you are missing.
I’ve trained at a multitude of different jiu jutsu gyms and no gym has progressed my jiu jutsu skill level as much or as fast as here. From my experience those who train at this gym for the first time become very skilled very fast thanks to coach dans non patented teaching methods. In addition as a small business and as a business owner Dan is the most honest, straightforward, and kind business owner I have seen or heard of. There’s no doubt that he started this gym because he genuinely loves jiu jutsu and helping people in their life journey. First class is free come try it.
Dan's jujitsu school is by far the best in Southern California. I wish I would have joined his school sooner. The quality of teaching is amazing, not only because of the detail he provides each student but he ensures we as students understand what he is conveying about the position he is showing. Also, providing video of Jujitsu tournaments allows us to see the move applied in real life situations. You cannot ask for a better Jujitsu school in Southern California. His open mats are packed with students from all over. Nothing but positive things to say about this school.
