Best place in the West Valley to train! This is your chance to join a newer gym and get individualized attention from a superior coach and some of the best training partners around.<br><br>Coach Ruben is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about helping people of all ages and experience levels truly better themselves through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA training. I travel from Mesa whenever I have the chance to learn everything I can.<br><br>I love visiting this gym and have always been welcomed with open arms. Truly a place where the whole family can train and have a great time.<br><br>Don't just take my word, go see for yourself!
This gym is incredible. The owner/coach Ruben has done an unbelievable and amazing job of creating a culture where everyone is like family. All new people are made to feel comfortable and welcomed with open arms. It starts with him and flows through all his team and his students. From the moment I walked in to his gym to each and every visit to train, he and his coaches and his students all were welcoming and encouraging. Everyone here follows his lead and has aided in cultivating this awesome culture. All students no matter level work to improve each other with no judgement. No one is out to hurt anyone and all strive to be better while looking out for one another. I personally feel blessed and lucky to have found this gym. If you are interested in trying out jiu jitsu or striking or MMA please come here and give it a shot.
proving Ground has been an amazing experience for myself and my children. This journey is not only physical but mental as well. Vargas Gym has opened up another world for our family to experience. The coaches are phenomenal. Great mentors it feels like a family when you go there you will not be disappointed give it a try, they're very down to earth .. every single one of the coaches come in with a smile on her face and a blank slate from the day they come in they teach they mentor they listen the kids coaches are extremely patient. The kids look up to them as family members as adults, they trust and adults, they could be trusted, just give it a try you won't be disappointed ...
Im a BJJ brown belt and spent a month training at Proving Ground while in Surprise, and I can’t recommend it enough. Coach Ruben has built an incredible community where you feel welcomed the moment you walk through the door.<br><br>The gym has a perfect balance: you’ll find high-level competition athletes pushing the pace alongside people just looking for a great workout. They offer high-quality instruction in both Gi and No-Gi from technical black belts. Most importantly, the training is safe, and the facility is spotless. Whether you're dropping in for an open mat or signing up for full-time classes, the vibes are just immaculate. 10/10 recommendation!
I was in Surprise for a few months for work and was looking for a place to train while in town. I dropped in at Proving Ground and was immediately greeted by good people, good vibes, and high level jiu jitsu. Ruben and his coaches are great folks, and the training environment they've created is second to none. Whether you're a veteran of combat sports or a day-one beginner, you'll be welcomed and treated like family here. Can't recommend this place highly enough!
Excellent Coach! My son was a member of this gym for three years. Coach Vargas was an amazing coach and mentor, and the gym members were very welcoming and supportive. My son learned life-long skills for competition in Jiu Jitsu as well as self-defense. He still visits coach whenever he is in AZ. Best experience he has ever had at a gym.
