My kids have been coming here for almost 2 years. It has been fantastic. The kids have fun learning the jiu-jitsu but it goes deeper than that. My oldest son has autism and sometimes struggles with understanding social norms and interactions. He also tends to get angry quickly. Since starting, we have seen marked improvement in both these areas. Learning jiu-jitsu is about so much more than learning jiu-jitsu :).<br><br>Since my kids have been doing well, I have also started training about 4 months ago. I am in my 40's and haven't worked out much before this. It has done wonders for my health and I have fun every time I show up.<br><br>I couldn't recommend Gracie Barra Buckeye more. The place is great. The staff is great. They teach kids and adults alike with respect and kindness. There is no judgement and everyone just enjoys themselves.
Me and my husband absolutely love Gracie Barra! Since my son started classes, we have seen such an amazing transformation in him. Not only has he learned jiu jitsu skills, but he has grown so much in his character. His respect for others has improved, he listens better at home and in public, and his ability to pay attention and follow instructions has gotten so much stronger.<br><br>The coaches are patient, structured, and truly care about the kids’ development both on and off the mats. They teach discipline, confidence, and teamwork in a way that makes learning fun. My son looks forward to every class and feels proud of his progress.<br><br>We are so thankful for the positive impact Gracie Barra has had on our family. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a supportive and character-building environment for their child!
I’ve been training at this gym for a few months now, and it’s been an awesome experience from day one. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and take the time to make sure you’re actually learning and improving, no matter your level.<br><br>The people here really make the place special—everyone is welcoming, supportive, and pushes each other to get better. The atmosphere is clean, friendly, and professional, which makes it easy to stay consistent and enjoy showing up.<br><br>If you’re thinking about getting into jiu-jitsu, I can’t recommend this gym enough.
What a fantastic place! My son and daughter both attend and really enjoy going. The Coaches are great examples for the kids to look up to. They take the time to connect with the kids and push them to do better. I love how after my daughter's (6years old) class they have a little talk and drip in a lesson of respect. I have loved watching my son (13years old) make friends and learn Jiu-Jitsu something that will stay with him for a lifetime. I can see both their confidence grow as they continue to learn and practice. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Started our journey with Gracie Barra Buckeye back in Aug 2024 and my boys love it!<br>The staff and the coaches are all amazing! They are always welcoming and friendly. Coach Mikey has a very special gift teaching these kids. He breaks down movements so well and inspires my kids to be the best they can be.<br>If you are considering signing yourself up or your children, just do it. You won't regret it!
After signing our daughters up, we were so happy and impressed by their experience my husband and I pulled the trigger and signed ourselves up. We couldn’t imagine taking our training anywhere else! Everyone here is very welcoming and the instruction is top notch. Gracie Barra Buckeye truly stands by the motto “jiu jitsu for everyone” and we feel confident recommending them to all of our family and friends.
