Truck Entry
Also known as: Truck Roll · Twister Hook Entry
From behind the turtle, hook one of their legs with a figure-four of your own legs ("twister hook") and tip them sideways into the truck.
Transition · Gi & No-gi · Difficulty 4/5 · Usually learned at Purple belt
Starts from Turtle as the attacking player → lands in The Truck.
The details that make it work
- Insert your near leg inside their near thigh and lock your feet in a leg figure-four (the twister hook).
- Grab their far knee or ankle to kill the base, then roll them over the hooked leg.
- Stabilize the truck by pulling the far leg toward you before hunting the twister or calf slicer.
Where it goes wrong
- Hooking without controlling the far leg — a based-out far knee stops the tip-over.
How opponents counter it
- Free the hooked leg by straightening it before the lock closes
- Roll through to guard as the tip begins
Is the Truck Entry legal in competition?
