The details that make it work
The truck leg figure-four keeps their lower body pointed one way; your hands bring their head the other.
Wrist control first, then thread their arm behind your head before attacking the neck wrap.
Pull the head slowly toward your chest — the tap comes from the spine, respect it in training.
Where it goes wrong
Losing the far-leg control mid-setup; without the truck, the twister is just a headlock.
How opponents counter it
Free the hooked leg and square the hips
Hide the near arm early to block the head wrap
Is the Twister legal in competition?
IBJJF: illegal at ALL belts, gi and no-gi (spinal lock without a choke). Legal in ADCC and most sub-only events.
