Strong Arm BJJ is a great place to train. As a Law Enforcment Officer I feel it’s important to train grappling. Often encounters end up in a grappling situation where an LEO will have to subdue and gain control of a subject. Founder Justin Barker and his wife Lisa offer free training to all law enforcment officers and first responders…this is not something you see anywhere. Which shows they genuinely care and their willingness to give back to the community. They offer wrestling, MMA and Tae Kwon Do classes as well. My daughter has been training Jiu Jitsu here for years and my youngest daughter just started her journey. Kids are showed discipline, self respect, accountability as well as great technique and skill. Adults classes are very technical and cater to all levels…beginners and beyond. Strong Arm has is an excellent jiu jitsu academy. Actually, it is more than just jiu jitsu. They offer Tae Kwondo, wrestling, and mma as well. The coaching is bar none the best I have ever experienced. It all starts from the top with the founder and head coach Justin and his wife Lisa. They also offer a great kids experience. My 7yo daughter has been going for more than a year, and she really looks forward to each class. She has a great time learning discipline, technique and just has a lot of fun. This school also gives back greatly to the community. Justin offers free enrollment for veterans and first responders. You will not find that at any other martial arts school, anywhere. Having a highly trained first responder force is essential for keeping communities safe. So, thank you for doing that Justin! Lastly, my fellow classmates is what really makes this academy special. Strong Arm Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been an incredible blessing for me and my grandson. Is it easy: Absolutely not, but very rewarding. We’ve been members of this family for about 1 1/2 years; and make no mistake, this is a very welcoming and accepting family. BJJ is the focus, but there are also a Wrestling and Tae Kwon Do programs available. Fantastic instructors! For my grandson who was 6 yrs old when he started: he always wanted to go from the beginning, but he had serious focus issues. Those issues have greatly diminished with the behavior expectations and standards to which this Strong Arm family holds him accountable. My grandson has developed the skill and confidence to successfully complete in grappling tournaments throughout Texas. Strong Arm kids are always on the medal podium. This is due to the high level instruction and curriculum delivered at Strong Arm. I’m always getting questions and compliments regarding our Strong Arm
We love Strong Arm! The Jiu-Jitsu classes helped my son develop confidence, focus and a competitive edge. Along with a variety of other classes like MMA, Wrestling, Judo & Tkd. All the professors, coaches and instructors are professional, patient and kind. Coach Justin Barker and his wife, Lisa create an inclusive and warm environment, they and the other Strong Arm members have become part of our family. Strong Arm is an amazing place to learn Jiu-Jitsu, get fit and make friends!
Strongarm is run by by a wonderful family, Justin and Lisa. They are so encouraging, welcoming, and show techniques for all levels of Jiu jitsu. The gym is one big family and offer classes at 3 different locations. You can train at all 3 as long as you’re a member and no matter what level, you are always supported if you want to try and compete. Definitely would recommend Strongarm for those wanting some great rolls and a second family!
Justin is a fantastic and caring instructor. If you want to learn jiu jitsu he shows great technique. Strong Arm is a very family oriented place that I would recommend to anyone for the parents or the kids. You’ll lose weight without even trying while learning really cool and useful stuff. They also gave a wrestling program which is top notch coached by a top 5 ranked wrestler!!
