My daughter just started taking classes at Tutela Jiu Jitsu, and I can honestly say it’s been a wonderful experience for both of us! Stopped by Tutela Jiu Jitsu Academy and was genuinely impressed. From the moment I walked in, the environment was friendly and professional. The coaching was clear and technical, but still easy to follow. What stood out most was the culture—people trained hard, but everyone was respectful and looked out for each other. Clean mats, good training partners, and a great vibe overall. I also really appreciate all the support you’ve shown me. I’d absolutely come back, and I’d recommend this place to anyone—from beginners to experienced grapplers.
10/10 recommend coming to Tutela Jiu Jitsu! Justin Garcia is very motivational and communicative but not in a pushy way, when leading up to your scheduled class. He has a passion that shows he genuinely cares about what he does AND what we do while in his care! We signed our daughter up to try it out and we all three ended up enjoying it and craving more! Since leaving the gym our (introverted) daughter has mentioned Tutela and wanting to go back - at least a dozen times! The workout you get while also learning how to keep your pace and strategically think out your moves is mind blowing. It’s so much fun; I enjoyed every minute of our first day and plan you continue going while in the Corpus Christi area! If you’re questioning if you should try this gym out - just do it! You won’t regret it. The members are very welcoming and patient with first timers, like myself!
To begin, the facility is big, and kept clean. Justin the owner, does make sure everyone is greeted when you enter the building and does give you your expectations. It was my 4 year old’s first time there. Justin was very patient and kind, and made sure my son was comfortable and okay during the whole practice. I appreciate the approach he takes with the kids, as to make sure they are listening and paying attention. Although my son was a little nervous, I’m sure it will take time for him to get used to the activities and blossom, as well as other kiddos. As soon as my son feels ready to go back, we will 100% keep him enrolled for his growth and confidence he will develop. If you’re wanting to try a new sport for your child, or just looking for a Jiu-Jitsu spot to stick your kids in, I HIGHLY recommend Here!!
I’ve only been training at Tutela Jiu Jitsu for a few days, and as someone brand new to Jiu Jitsu, I’m blown away. Justin, the owner, has created not just a gym but a community. The gym is spotless, and the culture is even better. I’ve been working out for 20 years, and hands down, this is the most fun I’ve ever had while training and learning. Every session is a mix of learning and enjoying yourself, which keeps you motivated and coming back for more. If you’re looking for a place to grow and enjoy the journey, this is it.
Where to began I’ve been on a self discovery for 38 years of my life. I just want to say going to Tutela I literally feel like I’ve found my community my family. No judgment zone I look forward each day to learn more and more from Justin and Sam it’s such a great space. I’ve been going for about two weeks now I’m more than excited for my future endeavors with Tutela. Not to mention my younger brother and nephew attend so it’s literally a family affair. But I want to add in the short time I’ve been attending I’ve already made friendships that are more like brotherhoods so thank you Justin and Sam thank you @Tutela excited for the future because it is bright! 🙏🏽🙇🏽♂️🤍 🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🧿
