My son has been to three different Martial Arts Studios in the Amarillo and Canyon Texas areas over the last 5 years. This by far and away is the absolute best. I have been a coach and trainer by trade in a different sport, soccer, and have worked in Amarillo and elsewhere as a coach with a private training business. So I have a good understanding of proper coaching and process driven training methods and Will is very, very good. He is patient, he is detailed, he trains technique toward mastery knowing how to give correction, he is good with kids, he has an idea of where the kid is at and where he wants to bring them. The academy has good facilities that are safe with personal instruction that is reasonably priced so your child will not have a problem getting lost in the shuffle and will learn quickly in a fun and safe environment. Adults get trained as well and from what I can see have a great experience also. I could go on and on, I a
Impact Martial Academy is an outstanding gym for anyone interested in Muay Thai or MMA. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed and part of the team. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable, skilled, and dedicated to every student’s progress, making the coaching quality a solid 5/5. The gym itself is always clean and well-maintained, and safety is clearly a top priority—both in training and in the overall environment What stands out most is the patience the coaches show when teaching, whether you’re brand new or an experienced fighter. They take the time to break things down, encourage questions, and make sure everyone grows at their own pace while always feeling supported and held accountable. One thing that should never change here is the culture of holding not only ourselves, but each other accountable for growth. Another thing Impact martial arts academy thrives on is the impact we have on each other and our community. So if
My experience at this gym has lasted over 3 years, and I can proudly say that this is one of the best gyms I have ever been apart of. I am a college student at WTAMU and so I will leave for summer and winter breaks, however, every time I come back I will always get welcomed back like I never left! I wish more people knew about not only this gym, but the sport! It is such a great community and great set of coaches and teammates where we learn and thrive together. This is something I would recommend to any and everyone no matter the status. I went there just looking for some sort of fighting gym and all it took was one class for me to love every part of it. So, if you are considering it, then just do it.
Honestly the best Muay Thai/ Martial Arts gym in the 806! The community within is unlike any other gym I’ve stepped foot in. I was welcomed with open arms and there was NO awkward phase like most gyms have. I came in one day and haven’t stopped since and do not plan to stop. The coaches all break down technique in a way for you to understand better and will match your learning speed. Doesn’t feel like you’re apart of a team, but feels like you’re apart of a family! Love every second of every session I’m in along with everybody who joins! I highly recommend this gym for anybody wanting and willing to get 1% better regardless of what it takes! Not to mention all the equipment here is cleaned and sanitary, and they even have gloves/shin guards for new comers to wear if they just want to try it out for a day! Love the hospitality!
It is a truly enjoyable place to learn Muay Thai and grappling. I can say with confidence that training at this place has become my favorite hobbie, and that's saying a lot from someone who initially (before training at the place) just wanted to try it out for a couple of weeks and then leave. Muay Thai and grappling are fun, but in my opinion what made the martial arts so enjoyable for me were the coaches and the members of the gym who really make one feel welcomed, challenged; and satisfied, as there's a constant sensation of learning and progression. I would really encourage anyone to try this gym.
Training under Coach Will at Impact Martial Arts Academy has completely changed my life. In almost two years, I’ve lost over 50 pounds, built real confidence, and found an amazing community that pushes me to be better every day. Coach Will genuinely cares about your growth and the atmosphere he has created is welcoming and motivating. If you want to get in shape, learn real Muay Thai, and be part of something meaningful, this is the place.
