Gotta give it 5 stars. If you’re on the Knightsville/Ridgeville-side of Summerville it’s the closest spot to train BJJ that I know of and it’s hosted by the YMCA The Ponds location which is a nice facility with friendly staff that offer childcare while you’re training for kids up to 7 years old. As far as the BJJ itself, Coach Ron is solid. For anyone looking to improve your skills in self-defense then 10/10 recommend giving it a go. The training is safe and catered to the skill level of each individual. My 6 year old daughter is in the tiny Titans class and she loves it. Coach Ron runs a firm but fair program that is—in my opinion—essential for the development of capable, confident, and competent little humans.
I have had the privilege of knowing and training with coach Ron since he was a white belt (yes we all started there at some point 😄). Since then he has been dedicated to helping others while also being trained himself. The attitude, discipline, and positive mindset of coach Ron are a few of the many great qualities he possess. While I don't train with him personally due to living in California I wouldn't think twice about attending his classes, they would be a must-go for me if I were in the area. All that said if you are in the area I know this would a great place to practice fun and safe BJJ from a very knowledgeable coach. To all the beginners remember tap early and tap fast. Oss
Coach Ron being one of my students in Montana embodies the tenets of bjj. His dedication to running a kids program is truly selfless. Titan Jiujitsu works to develop children holistically through the practice of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Not just in the physical realm but in the mental and social realms. Teaching children how to solve problems while remaining calm is his specialty. Anyone in the area I’d recommend trains at Titan!
Coach Ron is passionate about his students. No matter their ability, his students will definitely learn techniques, build confidence, and grow physical endurance through his coaching sessions while having fun. Coach Ron creates a safe environment where his students learn from each other through persistent rolling sessions. My daughter has many hobbies, and without a doubt her favorite one is learning Jiujitsu. I am so proud how much my daughter has learned from Coach Ron's dojo in only 7 months.
Coach Ron and his staff are very friendly and patient with our kids. They keep jiu-jitsu fun and entertaining to keep our little ones attention. I would definitely recommend Titan jiu-jitsu to anyone who is looking for their kids to learn jiu-jitsu.
