Hi, my name is Ross. I have been doing Brazilian Jujitsu for about four years on/off with covid. I was visiting Charleston for a month in January 2023 and looking for a place to train. I found Devine Brazilian Jujitsu on Daniel Island. One of the highlights of my vacation in Charleston was going to this gym to train JiuJitsu. It is top class and I have visited several gyms around the world. The coach is motivating and offers great guidance to improve your game. The facilities have everything you need. The gym has all levels of practitioners from the highest levels to beginner levels in Gi and non Gi. Aditionally, the training schedule was flexible. The training partners were excellent. I felt at home and the fellowship at the gym was positive, focusing on the sport and everyone was really polite and treated me well. I highly recommend you give this gym a try. Osss
I was looking for a gym to train at while visiting from out of town and was welcomed with open arms to Daniel Island BJJ. Great rolls, family friendly environment, safe and friendly training partners, and excellent instruction by Tom. I would definately recommend Daniel Island BJJ to anyone looking for a local gym, and would definately train there again!
This gym is amazing! Came in for a Saturday morning open mat, and they had a great turnout. Everyone was extremely welcoming and willing to share tips and tricks. The owner, Tom Sheehan, is an absolute jiu jitsu wizard! If you are going to train BJJ in Charleston, you are doing a disservice to yourself by not training with Tom. Amazing culture and vibe.
If you’re looking for a great place to train or even to start your Jiu Jitsu journey, Devine BJJ on Daniel island is the place to go in the Charleston area! I only got in a few sessions before moving home, but I was welcomed like a long-time member. Tom Sheehan and the instructors were very knowledgeable and even took the time during my sessions to teach me one on one applicable skills for my job. Highly recommend Devine BJJ!!
I dropped in for 2 weeks and I couldn't have felt more welcomed. Everyone from the instructor to all the white belts were awesome. Tom Sheehan spent every class thoroughly explaining all the techniques in fine detail, to the point that I don't think I'll ever forget any of them for a long time. I stayed to roll after class and, again, everyone was super nice and extremely knowledgeable. If you're in the area for any reason, I HIGHLY recommend you stop by at this gym.
I challenge anyone to find a better teacher than Tom. Incredible diverse background in the art of jiu jitsu, him and the rest of the higher belts are all stand up quality guys on top of being absolute weapons. If you're going to train Jiu Jitsu, you might as well learn the right way from the right people.
