Jiu Jitsu One reviews

Rated 4.9/5 across 36 Google reviews.

Jiu Jitsu One is an anamzing place for anyone wanting to practice jiu jitsu, no matter the skill level. There are experienced grapplers, jiu jitsu players, judo players, wrestlers, and people that are brand new to the sport/art in house. The environment is very welcoming to beginners. The instructors and upper belts ensure that people who are starting out have a safe place to practice and learn. While still providing a atmosphere for more experienced practitioners to hone their competitive skills. Honestly, this is the place to be if you want to learn jiu jitsu or make some new friends that you can grab a beer with! Oss!
I trained at Gracie 717 for almost 5 years. For a while, I was their most active competitor. I won more gold medals at bjj tournaments (mostly IBJJF) for them than anyone else there. I wish I wouldn't have waited so long to switch to Jiu Jitsu One...the environment is so much more conducive to learning, especially for women and non-competitors. Nick approaches each student as a unique individual and takes the time to make sure everyone is taken care of. Unlike a lot of other gyms, there is no ego or toxic tension, ever. Our parent school in York, Zero BJJ, is also filled with friendly killers. In December, we are moving into a bigger facility on the north side of Lancaster city, as we're quickly outgrowing our current space. Whether you're looking for a little self-defense or pursuing a career in competition, JJ1 is the place to be! -Josiah Swarr (Purple belt)
As a women training in a male dominated sport I have always felt comfortable and welcome at Jiu Jitsu One! There are days when we have 5-10 women on the matt's which isn't typical in most gyms! I also put my kids in jiu jitsu! Nick, our instructor, is awesome and helps us all as we learn and navigate our skills. Wouldn't want to go anywhere else. Glad we found Jiu Jitsu One!
This instructors in this school are great! Great jujitsu for everyone & awesome self defense classes for women, men & Muay Thai classes for all! If your thinking of doing jujitsu stop thinking and drop in to see a class. You will love it like everyone else that stopped in! Ernesto Martinez (Blue belt)
Recently started training here and I absolutely love it. There's a wonderful community and great energy. The training is well focused and the instructors are very knowledgable and supportive. This is the place to go in lanc for all things bjj & striking!
Amazing gym with an even more amazing staff. My kids have been coming here for over a year, and they’ve learned so much along the way. I have nothing but respect for the administration—truly grateful to be part of this community. It’s also a gym that continues to grow and reinvest in itself. I’ve seen firsthand how much the facility has improved over time, and it’s clear that your fees are being put to good use. Highly recommend!
