I highly recommend Johnny Karate!! I have been bringing my daughter to Johnny for 3 years, from age 4. She started at another Martial Arts school before and the teaching at Johnny’s is far superior - more attention to proper form, technique, self discipline, self defense, all while keeping it fun for the kids! Classes are age and development appropriate and he moves the kids up slowly with their belt ranks so they are really learning and earning their belts. I have seen the older kids that he has been training for 7-8 years already, and they are really impressive. I look forward to my daughter reaching that level in a few years!
Johnny Karate Martial Arts has really built a family dynamic which is hard to find elsewhere. From the training staff to the team, they've built something strong and worthwhile. Extremely clean facility and trainers that push you to grow and learn as much as you can. Johnny is putting together something special for the kids and adults who train here and we're all excited to come in and train hard.
Johnny Karate is a true Gem of Carroll Gardens! Sensei Johnny has grown up in the neighborhood and his passion for his dojo, community and most importantly his commitment to his students is evident from the moment you meet him. My teenage daughter goes to classes almost everyday! She absolutely loves all of the instructors and truly enjoys being part of the Johnny Karate community. It is clear that Sensei Johnny loves what he does and he passes that on to every chid and adult that comes to his classes. We are very grateful for this Dojo!! The Best!
Highly recommend Johnny Karate Studio for both adults and kids! My 4 year old loves going to his ninja classes. Sensei John has a special way with kids, with his age appropriate approach the classes are fun, but at the same time very disciplinary. And if you are looking for a place to get fit yourself, get healthy and take in positive vibes the adult kickboxing classes are right for you! Solid workouts, great energy and awesome ppl!
I have known sensei Johnny and his team for a while now and I am so happy to say that he is always working so diligently to improve his classes and programs for his students. I absolutely love this place! It’s so amazing to see such a professional group of instructors do what they truly love and the passion definitely reflects off of all the students. My daughter (age 3) has been taking martial arts classes since the summer and we’ve had the best experience! She started off a little shy but John and Javier made her feel comfortable right away. I love the message that it sends to young children and she has a chance to blow off some high energy during each class. We just renewed our membership for the next 6 months because she has so much fun in each class! Strongly recommend signing up for a trial class.
