Professor Pete and BMA changed my life. It’s rare to find a training environment with such a diverse and welcoming cast of instructors and students. At BMA, you get to train with and learn from musicians, programmers, city employees, teachers, doctors, artists, and everything in between. Professor Pete draws on decades of knowledge and a deep love of martial arts in his teaching. Billy’s morning class is excellent, as is Boom’s Sunday class and then open mat. I began training in 2019 and I plan to practice BJJ as long as I can get out of bed and make it to the gym. I’ve since moved out of Brooklyn but will always remember my time at BMA. Osu!

Had bought a Groupon for 10 kickboxing classes, but after the first class I was immediately hooked and signed up for a membership on the spot. Had never done any kind of workout like this before and not only is it the best exercise I've ever given my body, but it's a complete blast! Had been nervous going in with no experience, but everyone from the staff to the instructors made me feel very welcome and comfortable. They're all very personable and caring people. The instructors are amazing and not only on ensure you learn proper technique, but also encourage you to push past your limits, which is where you see personal growth happen. Because they're actual competitive kickboxers, you're being trained by real professionals. I feel like they actually care about my health and my progress, which has resulted in a significant improvement in my overall fitness. Since I've been coming to class regularly, I've even seen a serious improvement in
Bought two of the 5 class deal through iLoveKickboxing for the Brooklyn Martial Arts gym to introduce my mom to kickboxing. The front desk staff was an amazing help with scheduling and explained the membership plans. The whole staff is dope and athletic. The instructors for the Saturday & Sunday 11am classes were understanding and patient. And the other classmates are friendly and supportive. Everything together made my mom feel comfortable and I was more than satisfied. I'm confident that she'll sign up for membership. If not, I'll definitely continue coming here for additional training and exercise.
I signed up for their web special in a moment of impulse because I wanted to do something that the whole family could take part in and I have to say, sometimes it’s good to give in to an impulse. The Boerum Hill location is a clean, well maintained facility with small but serviceable locker rooms. It’s conveniently located in downtown Brooklyn and my kids love the martial arts class, even my son who is a self-described “indoors kid”. They really get the students motivated and focused, even the disruptive ones which is no small feat. Kickboxing, which I and my husband signed up for, is totally kickass and really helps you work up a great sweat. It’s held on a separate floor and the high energy of the class really pushes me to give my best effort. I always feel like I’ve achieved something at the end of a session. And the staff is very friendly and encouraging which is great for novices like us. If you're interested in martial arts traini
I've been taking kickboxing classes here for about 8 months. I've noticed A LOT of change in my body since then! I started with the Groupon and the instructors are what kept me coming back. They're all super friendly and very helpful, especially since I was a total beginner. Super conveniently located, really cool classmates, and a nice gym. Workouts here make me sweatier than I've ever been in my life. I only wish they had kickboxing classes before noon on weekdays!
