I wanted Jiu-Jitsu and decided to check out Rolles-Gracie Academy. They welcomed me with open arms. All the instructors are super knowledgeable and passionate about Jiu-Jitsu! They are always willing to help you no matter what! I was a bit nervous that I would get hurt because I was a complete beginner. However, the core classes are very beginner-friendly and help you build your Jiu-Jitsu base without the worry of you getting hurt! They also have advanced classes for those that are more experienced. I really enjoy going here and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great Jiu-Jitsu gym!
One of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academies around — I’m really glad to have the option to train in Edison! The attention to detail makes a huge difference. As an example, the glass walls were letting in too much sun, so within a few days a professional crew came in and tinted the entire wall, making it much more comfortable for both the athletes and the spectators. If you have kids, do them a favor and have them try a class here. Soon, they’ll be training and asking you to join them — and I can’t think of a better way to build a bond with your child than to train alongside them. Just look at the number of parents and kids who train here. As for the quality of the instructors, you’ll be training under Rolles Gracie, son of the legendary Rolls Gracie and grandson of Carlos Gracie, one of the creators of the art — that speaks for itself. Só if you really wish to study the amazing art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Rollles Gracie is the school that you should join. While the majority of schools have you watch the instructor do a technique a couple of times and then have you partner up and basically have an open mat experience, the instructional process at Rolles Gracie is completely opposite. The “Core” beginner class spends time teaching you the basic techniques with extremely close supervision by some of the most talented professors in the art. The climate of the academy is more like a family than an MMA completion with the high ranks reinforcing your technique and not using you as a sparring dummy. Joining Rolles was certainly one of the best experiences I’ve had in martial arts and I would strongly recommend their program without hesitation to anyone young or old.

The environment is very welcoming, super clean and there is plenty of mat space. You’ll learn traditional Gracie Jiu-Jitsu from the best, most patient and caring instructors. Professor Paris was amazing at my class tonight and helped me so much with drilling guard passes/retention and practicing submissions as well. He offers knowledgeable insight on the beautiful art of Brazilian jiu jitsu. This academy is super clean and sleek with a modern twist, and makes practicing jiu jitsu feel like a place where I can forget about my crazy day, truly release my stress, and channel my energy into improving myself. I would highly recommend training here whether you’re a beginner or have been training already. Great environment with professional professors!
I have had the honor of receiving my black belt from Professor Rolles. During my time training at RGA I frequently trained with Professor Paris. With every roll, I learned more. Professor Paris is extremely technical and has a way of explaining techniques in a way all levels understand. The RGA family is welcoming to all and the academy is extremely clean. If you have been training for many years, or still considering your first class, you are in good hands. Fitness, confidence, and friendship are all just beyond the threshold of the door.
