J.W. and his staff provide the absolute best! J.W. is hands down the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor I've had. He has a gift for sensing his students learning style, and adjusting his lessons so that everyone is able to understand the concepts being taught. Fantastic training facility, Incredible Instructors, and an extremely family friendly environment. I have no qualms recommending this BJJ Gym to my friends and family.
J.W. Wright is hands down the best Jiu Jitsu instructor I’ve ever had the privilege of learning from. He is as legit as they come and a phenomenal black belt. If you get a chance to train under Professor Wright consider yourself lucky as he's one of the last of a dying breed when it comes to old school values in a Jiu-Jitsu Professor, along with very solid MMA skills on top of that. We are honored to train under this lineage. All respect to this group here.
From the moment you walk in, you can feel the excellent culture JW has cultivated. Agree with previous reviewers, JW is a great BJJ teacher: warm, engaging, relates techniques to all aspects of Jui Jitsu and life, presses you to improve yourself without intimidation. The number of black belts training here regularly is a huge sign that this club supports, encourages and grows its practitioners. Another clue to the great culture is how many highly ranked women are members of this club, that means they've felt comfortable in this environment over a long period of time, healthy culture. This club does have steel though, there are plenty of MMA and sport fighters in this club, it has pedigree and a desire to win, together. Recommend you experience it yourself. If you are interested in trying BJJ for the first time or want to get back into it, Gracie Humaita and the club are there for you.
I was in town for business for a few days so I was looking for a place to train. I dropped in for a class and an open mat two days later. It was a great experience! JW and his crew are awesome! From whit belt to black belt, everyone was super welcoming and made it feel as if I had been training there with them for years. If you’re looking for Jiujitsu in this area, Gracie Humaita is the place to go!
Good people, great jiujitsu. Seriously good training, I love the diverse times for classes, including women’s class 2x a week. Highly suggest you follow them on Facebook for anything unusual in class schedule (weather days, etc…)
JW Wright has created a culture of Jiu-Jitsu excellence that's truly special. The technical instruction at this gym is world class. Detailed, precise and delivered in a way that makes you feel spoiled to be a student here. The environment consistently attracts great training partners, which keeps pushing everyone to grow. For what's being shared at this school, the students are getting the deal of a lifetime. I can't recommend it highly enough.
