Gracie Martial Arts is a top notch jiujitsu school. The head instructor is knowledgeable and professional, creating a welcoming and ego-free environment that’s carried through by the other instructors and students. The facility is spacious, well-organized, and the mats are sanitized regularly. Things to know: 1. The advanced class ends closer to 9:30 PM which makes the door to door time from home 3 hours. Suggestions: move start times up 30 minutes, conduct Q&A after dismissal, eliminate downtime between techniques and move “free rolling” back to separate days. 2. The testing process, is difficult to navigate and relies heavily on students preparing on their own. While instructors are eager to see students advance, getting the necessary help—like critiquing videos—often requires booking private lessons. Suggestions: Schedule regular test preparation sessions every three months. Include video preparation and critique as part of regular c
I can’t recommend Gracie Martial Arts in Stuart enough. The Gracie approach is phenomenal, as it streamlines the process of learning BJJ in a way that promotes safety and real-world effectiveness right of the bat, while giving beginners an extremely comprehensive grasp on the basics in a very methodical and predictable fashion. You’ll also have access to videos through Gracie breaking down the techniques, so you can always prepare for an upcoming class, or review something you just learned if you wish. This particular school is incredible. Upon entering for the first time, you immediately notice the sense of community and camaraderie. It is often said that the hardest belt to achieve in BJJ is the white belt, as walking through the door for the first time can be super intimidating for most. The people are warm, the instructors are great, and you’ll instantly fall in love with Jui-Jitsu. I've lived MMA for my entire life. I started out taking the Women’s Empowered self defense course and I loved it so much that I started taking the Combatives course a few weeks ago! Everyone is very friendly and the instructors are very informative and helpful. As for the pricing, it’s definitely worth it! I’ve learned so much in such a short amount of time! Update 2023: I had gone off to college and was told that people started getting ring work because the employees did not clean/sanitize that mats. During my time there they did not sweep the hair off the mats in between classes nor did I ever see them sanitize anything. One of my instructors had left there because she herself had gotten ring worm. I have since switched to another gym. I do not know if changes have been made. This is the only negative thing I could say about this gym.
Gracie Jiu Jitsu of Stuart is an excellent place to learn Jiu Jitsu. The instructors are dedicated, taking time to explain techniques and teach informative classes. The facility is clean, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Highly recommend for anyone interested in Jiu Jitsu.
I have been training here for approximately 2 years. And not a day goes by that I don’t look forward to coming to class. If you’re looking for a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere to train/learn Brazilian JiuJitsu in the Martin County; Stuart, FL; St Lucie County; or Palm Beach County area(s), then I highly recommend signing up for a membership at Gracie Martial Arts.
