Master Tan at Stockton Kuk Sool Hapkido is THE BEST. Actually, every single instructor here at the school is fantastic. My son is only 4 but has learned so much here. His discipline, social skills, and his fine/large motor skills have improved beyond a normal 4 year old's range and a lot of it is due to the classes held here at the school. Every child I've seen here is above and beyond fit. The older ones that have been here a while are so disciplined and athletic. It's very impressive. They learn not only the martial art itself but life skills as well. It's not all games like it is at a lot of other schools in Stockton and trust me, I took my son on sample classes to every other school in the area. This is the only school in Stockton that offers this quality of learning. My husband and I have been coming here for 3 weeks and I'm very impressed with the quality of the training, the skills of the other students, and the instructors training us. We signed up for the year and are very excited to be a part of this community. We both work primarily from home, have some history with Martial arts and wanted to get back to it. We couldn't be happier with the choice of coming here to train. We both feel great after each class, have been practicing at home in between classes, and look forward to the new things we'll learn. I highly recommend this place!!!
We highly recommend Apex Martial Arts! Our son has been attending since December 2021 (he was 4 years old). He started out shy and quiet. He was, typically, a very reserved child that prefer to be alone at home. Back then, he didn’t always participate in class, and his attention span was short. Fast forward to now, July 2023, he has grown and opened up tremendously. He participates, talks, enjoys being around others, and has more focus. He has also gain skills in body awareness (and is less clumsy) and communication. The Apex staff are professional and the very best. They are knowledgeable on how to teach children. Every class is purposefully taught, and most importantly, the students have so much fun! Master Tan engages with all the students. Sir Logan and Sir Ian are very skilled with students. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. My kids attend Apex Martial Arts and have been students for over a year now. To say there has been an improvement in their behavior is an understatement. They have learned how to respect their peers, how to defend themselves and most importantly, have gained new friends who have turned into family. The instructors are very knowledgeable and are more than willing to help you if you need it. Master Tan and Ma’am Angie are two of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. The things they do for their students and for the Stockton community show just how amazing they are. If you’re still doubtful, stop by and join us for a class.
As a life long martial arts fan I have always wanted to learn but never had the opportunity so we reached out to Apex for some information. Master Tan called us to invite us to try a class to see how we liked it and from the first session my wife and I attended we could tell instantly that we made the right choice to join Apex Martial Arts. Everyone in the dojang welcomed us and made us feel at home right away. With four classes so far , I have already seen progress with my conditioning, kicking accuracy and knowledge of Hapkido techniques, and I have been excited and motivated since day one because of the culture that Master Tan and the other instructors have cultivated here. If you are looking to challenge yourself mentally, as well as physically and make some new friends along the way, Apex is the place for you!
My son has learned great discipline and confidence! On top of the skills he's learning, he's also making friends and loves coming to class! The instructors and fellow classmates are friendly and everyone helps everyone. We're proud to be part of the Apex family !
