Amazing Jiu Jitsu academy in San Jose! The head coach, Alan Sanchez, is a high level grappler and has won some of the most prestigious competitions. He has competed in the UFC, EBI, CJI, IBJJF, F2W, and several other promotions. His teaching style makes it easy for anyone to learn and understand Jiu Jitsu. He is patient, kind, incredibly knowledgeable, and on top of all of that, he is super humble. I've trained with a lot of people and he is one of the best. His students are equally talented and friendly. I always love training here. If you're in the area and you want to learn Jiu Jitsu, you need to come train here as soon as possible.

I've been training with Alan now for almost 7 years. He's not only one of the best competitors (Nogi Worlds 🥇, EBI 🥇, CJJ 🥇), but he's one of the best jiujitsu instructors and coaches here in the Bay Area. You'll find him guiding students starting from day 0, all the way to coaching seasoned competitors in major competitions. He's done it all and he's always sharing his knowledge. Alan is one of the best instructors I've ever had! For new / beginner students, Alan is super patient and always thoughtful in facilitating fun yet technical classes. It's really up to you how far you want to take your training, but you'll definitely have a great time! For intermediate / advance students, it's amazing to have a world class competitor as a teacher. Alan has opened up my game to new techniques / new ways to approach jiu jitsu, and his love for for the sport is contagious. I have grown to love jiu jitsu even more!
Consider yourself lucky if you’re looking to learn jiujitsu and you are near 10th Planet San Jose! I say that because Professor Alan Sanchez checks all the boxes of someone you’d want to learn from: High-level skills, detailed, patient, humble, and passionate about jiujitsu. The first time I met him was three years ago when he taught a seminar. I still use what he showed with a high success rate. Congrats on the opening, Alan! For all you “unlucky” folks who don’t live nearby, sounds like you just need to make the commitment to get yourself over there to attend a class! I’ll be visiting!
Alan is an amazing martial artist and instructor. I consider myself extremely lucky to have had taken classes with him. He has a thorough understanding of jiu jitsu, and approaches his teaching with a simple presentation of technique that is supported by his deep understanding of the underlying concepts.
